#ALLMAROONEVERYTHING

Hopefully in New Orleans these will be more than just pixels on a computer screen. Created with Clark Ruhland's uniform builder.

I've been struggling to write this post for the last couple of days. I've been going back-and-forth in my head, trying to put my finger on why we want to see the Hokies decked out head-to-toe in all-maroon. It's undeniable they're sharp as hell. Stare at them for just a couple of seconds and they snarl and bite at you. They clock a 4-4 forty, they got heart. They're as "Virginia Tech" as the Hokie Stone that watches students get stung by the wind as they walk across the drillfield in the winter. They're simple, not overstated, perfect for a team that carries a lunchpail to work.

Last year we learned what our 2010 Nike Pro Combat uniforms would look like when I saw them on display at a Dick's Sporting Goods in Fairfax, VA days before the official announcement.

And now here's a picture of orange pants on display in Charlotte via @brooksaker.

Oh please let these be paired with the orange helmets.

My guess, without any confirmed information is we'll see Antone Exum and the rest of the team rocking those pants at some point this season.

This is a Uniform Post.

Orange Bowl Helmets?

Via anonymous email (ohhhhhh) comes a tip that these are the helmets we'll be wearing against Stanford in the Orange Bowl. They're bold, but the color is appropriate for the bowl. I think if we pair them with the white uniforms they'll look pretty sharp.

It would be the first time we wear orange helmets.

On August 18th HokieSports.com announced Virginia Tech would be one of ten schools outfitted with Nike Pro Combat uniforms.

Nike worked diligently with each university to bring relevant elements of the school’s rich heritage into the futuristic elite fit uniform designs. The collaborations with the universities produced the highly customized uniforms that will be revealed just days prior to the start of the 2010 college football season.

Below and after the jump are two picture of the jerseys and team shirt.

Ryan Williams will look dapper toting the rock in anything.
