Hokies to Face Georgia Tech Thursday in ACC Tournament

After falling to Clemson Saturday afternoon, the Hokies lost the opportunity for a first-round bye and ended up as the No. 6 seed in this week's ACC Tournament in Greensboro, NC. Tech ended up in a three-way tie for fourth with Clemson and Boston College at 9-7 in the conference, but lost the head-to-head tiebreaker with both teams.

As a result, the Hokies will play the late game, scheduled to start at 9 p.m., on Thursday night against Georgia Tech, who finished 5-11 in conference. If Tech were to advance past the Jackets, they would face No. 3 seed Florida State in the last game Friday night.

To make the NCAA Tournament, the Hokies will more than likely need to win both of those games on back-to-back nights. Below is the schedule for the ACC Tournament:

First Round--Thursday

-- Game 2 (2pm, ACC Network) No. 5 Boston College vs No. 12 Wake Forest

-- Game 3 (7pm, ESPN2) No. 7 Maryland vs No. 9 NC State
-- Game 4 (9pm, ACC Network) No. 6 Virginia Tech vs No. 11 Georgia Tech

Quarterfinals--Friday
-- Game 5 (12pm, ACC Network/ESPN2) No. 1 North Carolina vs Game 1 Winner
-- Game 6 (2pm, ACC Network/ESPN2) No. 4 Clemson vs Game 2 Winner

-- Game 7 (7pm, ACC Network/ESPN2) No. 2 Duke vs Game 3 Winner
-- Game 8 (9pm, ACC Network/ESPN2) No. 3 Florida State vs Game 4 Winner

Semifinals--Saturday
-- Game 9 (1pm, ACC Network/ESPN) Game 5 Winner vs Game 6 Winner
-- Game 10 (3pm, ACC Network/ESPN) Game 7 Winner vs Game 8 Winner

Championship--Sunday
