Photo Gallery: Behind the Lens of a William & Mary Waxing

A bevy of pictures from the Hokies' 62-17 win over the Tribe.

Hello and welcome to my first photo gallery post for the 2018 football season! It felt great to be back in Lane for a relatively low-pressure photo work day. That the forecasted rain held off for almost the entirety of it also helped a great deal, I was not in the mood to wear rain gear while it was that hot and humid.

This week's gallery starts with some pre-game festivities. This is the one time of the day where photographers are essentially allowed free reign of the field, which we take advantage of as much as possible, such as poking a camera into the linebackers huddle with Bud Foster during warmups:

It also lets you get nice and close to the team as they go through their punt-hype-play at midfield, demonstrated here by one C.J. Carroll:

The freedom to wander around ends with the coin toss, which gives you one last opportunity to get a little bit of a different photo before you have to stay behind the sidelines:

Bud Foster's defense was back on display early and violently in this game, with a sack fumble forced by Houshon Gaines (with required celebration after):

Lots of new faces to get familiar with this year, including newly minted center Zachariah Hoyt and his long flowing hair:

For some reason, I felt like I made a lot of stiff arm photos this game, including this Josh Jackson pose. There was a lot of open-field play in this game, which tends to create this kind of shot:

(I'm just saying, I'm well prepared for TheFifthFuller's undefeated season prediction.)

Finally, while the rain held off as much as it could, it did end up coming down pretty hard in the 4th for about five minutes. The Marching Virginians were well prepared, as were a few turkey-leg fans:

Check out the full William & Mary gallery, and all of our previous galleries. Enjoy!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

If you play it, they will win.
