The Frank Beamer Retirement Chronicles: Personal Golf Cart

The Blacksburg Don was spotted near the Magic City.

The Frank Beamer Retirement Chronicles is The Key Play's effort to chronicle Beamer's retirement adventures, encounters, and social media appearances. Complete archives.

It's been over a dang year since the last update of the Frank Beamer Retirement Chronicles, but Beamer is still ruling retirement as strong the Lannisters did the Seven Kingdoms. The latest evidence:

Beamer was in town as part of the latest Orange Bowl Hall of Fame class. Beamer guided the Hokies to four Orange Bowls appearances (1996, 2008, 2009 and 2011) and one win (20-7 over Cincinnati in 2009).

Thanks for sharing.

I can confirm that Frank also has great taste in cheap light beer. Saw him shuffling outta Gucci Kroger with a case of Coors Light not too long ago. The man. The myth. The legend...

Now, Cole, when you shift the gear and that little needle on the tach goes into the red and reads 9000 RPMs, that's bad!

Isn't Coors owned by a Chinese terrorist organization? /s

I didn't say Coors Light was my favorite, but if given the choice between Coors Light, Bud Light, and Miller Lite, I'm coors all the way. It's hydrating. It's science...

Every beer has it's time and place. I never understand why some don't get that.

I served him a Mich Ultra when I worked at Blacksburg Country Club. How diplomatic of him to not discriminate amongst light beers.

The beer snobbery of this place disturbs me.

Is that Ben Hilgart in the background?

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

Beard. Shaved head. Short-sleeved shirt.

This checks out.

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

LOL. I don't think that guy even owns a long-sleeved shirt or sweatshirt. I'll never forget seeing him in South Bend in 2016 with just a short-sleeved polo on. Guy's a boss.

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

Hilgart would eat this dude for breakfast.
