Hokies took off yesterday at 2pm headed to Manhattan, Kansas. This would probably be the biggest win in our basketball history if we knock them off tonight and would make any argument to keep us out of the dance at the end of the year because of schedule invalid. Of course with something so main stage I get that worried feeling in my stomach. I will be following it on my phone since I am stuck in Statistics class from 4:30 till 10 tonight.

Is anyone else as excited as I am?

I'm getting more excited as 4:00 approaches. #

To be 100% honest I never gave any of my attention to basketball until football season was over. While I was at Tech the majority of people didn't care about hoops at all until around my senior year. That was Seth's second year and our first in the ACC. It was at that point you could tell this guy was actually building something, unlike Ricky Stokes. Seth seems like a great guy, he's got a high energy level, he's charismatic and he can recruit. It's not proven if he can be a big time coach. Let's face it, whether or not you think we got screwed last season, with the talent we had, we should have won more games and made the tournament. You could make an almost equally valid argument for the 2008 season. All the rah rah spearheaded by Seth is great, but for me if you don't deliver it's a bit of a turnoff. With that said...

When I am done working I will fire up a bourbon for the team. He's asked me to go, "All in", and I will, again, because I want to see these kids succede and they need the support, even if it is from a couch.

Go Hokies!

i think my arguement #

was that we did prove to them that we were ready to be in the tourney. Our "weak" OOC schedule featured teams that were normally good basketball teams but were having a bad year. If it had been an SEC football team everyone would have given them the nod that "well they are usually good teams and they were good when they booked the game," however Tech got dogged on for the other teams performing badly. Tech also got blamed for the fact everyone thought "the ACC was down" last year. Was the ACC really down? Or was it that teams like Tech and Maryland were good and UNC was just awful. Every annalist claimed Duke was the weakest 1 seat or didnt deserve it because of "the ACC being down" yet they beat every team in the dance very well.

I think the record we had in the ACC should have got us a spot in the dance. The people who are picking need to get off the nuts of the big east and show the ACC its proper respect.

Football always trumps basketball but I am ready for some hoops in its own right!

About K-State's Curtis Kelly's Status #

But, despite last year's success and all the preseason celebration, Kelly's road has encountered another snag. It is unclear what exactly has taken place during practices, but coach Frank Martin elected not to play Kelly in the Wildcats' season opener Friday against James Madison. The issues were severe enough to keep Kelly from even suiting up.

Martin told reporters Sunday that Kelly has been better in the past few days, but said he wants to see consistent improvement before he will be satisfied. As of now, there is no guarantee Kelly will play Tuesday when K-State takes on No. 21 Virginia Tech.

"He just has to figure out if he wants to be a good teammate and be here," Martin said after Friday's game, which K-State won 75-61. "When he does that for a consistent period of time, then I will consider putting him out there again."

Maybe I'm used to Lane, but... #

The Octagon of Doom doesn't sound too intimidating.

Allen #

So who isn't surprised that Allen got his first foul 2:57 into the game...and its an intentional...but not technical. Funny that KState missed all three shots though!

Seth's Technical Fouls #

So what will be the bigger number, my correct pick last week (yes, pick, singular, as in I got one right) or the numbers of TF's Greenberg has today. As for the Octagon of Doom, didn't Chaz Norris fight Jean Claude Van Dam there? I think the OctaMOM of Doom would be much more intimidating.

I suspect after delivering #

I suspect after delivering eight kids Octomom's vagina looks very doom and gloom. Seth is getting T-ed up at least twice.

Pretty even first half, both #

Pretty even first half, both teams are still trying to figure each other out. It's tough to get any sort of run going with the officials blowing the whistle every minute. I'd like the lead, but I'm happy we're in striking distance.

McGruber! #

How the sound down while on a call. I turn the volume back up and see that its McGruber that is killing us. Maybe Seth should coach them to go down by 7 or 14 to start every game.
