I am sitting here going over the 2011 class and I just dont get it. I mean dont get me wrong there are some gems there. Kris Harley is going to be a beast at DT, Knowles could be great at wideout, Malleck will be nasty at TE, and Goins is weighing in at near 300lbs. Not to bad, but UVA freaking has a top 25 class, now all of them may not pan out, but I dont see how you sign those kids from VA when we have beat down their team every single year! It is time for a change in philosphy around here and it needs to start right the fuck now! I do think Foster brought in alot of talent that he can get us back to a top 5 defense, but we only have one OL, a couple TE, but I mean come on! Get rid of stiney and newsome, let Jim Cavenough or however you spell it go out a get us some 5 stars, he is the reason that we have brought in TT, Macho etc, the man can recruit so let him do his job!

Stiney is actually our best or second best recruiter with Coach Cav, but you're thesis is correct we need to change how we're doing business in order to get better.
I think a lot of hot air has inflated this talk about UVA's top 25 class. Most importantly they missed on Curtis Grant too. Also the recruiting rankings are aggregate, and they had more available scholarships to offer. If you look at the top, according to Rivals, they got 9 players rated at 5.7 or higher (4 stars and high 3 stars) while we got 8. In a year where we had limited scholarships and were reaching that's not cleaning our clock by any means. My guess is they signed with UVA because they are the "hip" thing with the new coach and want to be part of a something "special". When they lose to us four years in a row they'll realize they made the wrong choice.

I sure hope you are right, and Im not saying fire stiney, just relieve him of playcallin duties, I wouldnt be mad at making him head of recruiting he has brought in some great talent, and I can wait to see the look on those kids faces when the Hokies beat them up in UVA!

Let's take up a collection so the AD can afford to hire another coach and free up Stiney. Or, how about a 50 cent surcharge on each ticket, the "OC tax" if you would.
