It's a repeat
But a good way to start things off.
so graphic
but sooooo good.
ahhh yess
THAT.
YESSS!
This is so awesome and what I wish Bud does to the GT offense.
One of my favs from last year
oh yeah, and
GEORGIA TECH SUCKS
An interesting statistical analysis from From the Rumble Seat.
"As I will prove with some meaningful data...the amount of time to prepare doesn't matter very much in stopping the Triple-Option. What does matter, and is many times more statistically certain, is the quality of the rushing defense. "

It's worth your time to read.
Being GT Fans (maybe Alums?)
I would've expected better statistical data and testing. Without any significance to the correlation, it's just numbers and not a finding. But, it is an interesting hypothesis.
I do a lot of this stuff at work...big fan of Steven D. Levitt also, so I am biased towards debunking conventional thinking. In general this article passes my gut check.
I wish someone would analyze how "traditional" powers improve the strength of the ACC when then are "back".
What are the new wrinkles we should be expecting from the GT offense? More passing? Option out of the spread? Reggie Ball not running out of the back of the endzone?
I think the discussion is good, but the statistics were kinda pointless. This is what I left with them last week. BTW love the site. Keep up the good work.
"Good discussion, but the statistical work done here is just proving “conventional wisdom”. Your offense gets less yards when you play better defense. I would hope you would find statistical correlation in that.
The question isn’t just does any team benefit from having extra time to prepare for the triple-option. I would assume that any team benefits from having extra preparation time against any other team. The question you’d have to answer is does a team benefit from extra time to prepare for the TO more or less than in comparison to other offensive schemes."
agreed. must be in position, and must tackle well. If they don't tackle well, they are not stopping them even with two months of prep.
This is good news.
QB T.J. Shaw is practicing through a hamstring injury. He's the scoutteam's "Tevin Washington". He gives our defense a very good look.

Georgia Tech could be down a starting OL on Labor Day
Starting right tackle Morgan Bailey didn't practice Tuesday, and was in a walking boot. The contingency plan would be:
Chamberlain is a redshirt freshman; baptism by fire.

Fun with Buzz...
You know it's almost game time when...
Hah.
They'll love it even more when it's live, and real, and two hundred times louder than those speakers they played it on.
Oh, and I wonder if they loved it as much as when DMFW returned that kickoff on them and it played with the entire stadium jumping and screaming their asses off, striking fear into the very bones of those stupid bees.
unless they had a wall of Marshalls
to rival an 80's hair band, those speakers won't rumble the stands quite as effectively as the real deal...
Start Jumping
Exactly. Those bees that are still around from 2010 remember that scene all too well, no reminder necessary.
What Johnson is doing, versus the havoc we’re going to be creating on Sept 3rd, is like the difference between showing someone a picture of a tall building versus pushing them off of the same building.
New GT Helmets?

Dear GT,
Your new helmets look like a Titleist golf ball.

Some Real Sharp Tools

They're feet. Retard.

Dyrell returning kicks
Hello friends -
What does everyone think about Dyrell returning kicks this year? Is there worry about injury? Other concerns?
I'll just say I'm all for it:
If he can replicate that play a few times this season, I'm all for it. But I would also like him to be a bigger factor in the passing game because if he goes down with an injury on special teams, we have to cycle receivers in the depth chart and perhaps end up playing a true freshman.
Granted, the true freshman in question is Josh Stanford who has really made an impression in camp, so I'm not OVERLY worried about Dyrell getting injured, but I would rather see a tried and tested vet out there running routes than the new kid on the block. Also, #11 has been plagued by injuries his whole career at Tech and I just hope that he has the ability to make it through an entire season for a change.
didnt he originally say he didnt want to return kicks this year but then frank talked him into it? that makes me wonder if he wont be hesitant out there, which i wouldnt blame him for especially after that compression syndrome in his leg. that shit sounded horrifying!
