Quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg to visit Hokies.

Here's his 2010 and '11 tape.

He's athletic, can move around the pocket and has nice arm strength. It looks like it's down to us, Florida and PSU (where he originally committed to).

In addition to the Nittany Lions, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior is considering Florida and Virginia Tech. He is in Florida this weekend for an official visit.

Mornhinweg, a three-year starter for the Hawks, was in State College last weekend and, along with about a dozen other recruits, met with new head coach Bill O'Brien. The two spoke one-on-one "for 20 to 30 minutes."

Unless Mornhinweg changes his mind after seeing what Florida has to offer, he is likely to visit Virginia Tech next weekend. The Hokies were among the schools recruiting him before he orally committed to Penn State last July.

It looks like he enjoyed his trip to Florida.

He came down at the request of new UF offensive coordinator Brent Pease, who is trying to sign a 2012 QB and has targeted the Penn State commit. The two talked at length this weekend and Mornhinweg’s father and Pease have known each other since college.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder had a great visit according to UF tight end commit Colin Thompson, who knows Mornhinweg personally and thinks the Gators will land him. The three-star QB has an official visit planned to Virginia Tech next weekend.

Really want him in this class #

VT doesn't have a real QB in this class (I think Motley is a safety) and I like the video on him. Skyler being the son of a NFL offensive coordinator is an added bonus as well. Of course VT seems to always need an athletic QB and he also seems to have a good sense of pocket pressure as well which is needed for a VT QB.

Always good to have a QB in every class but I do still want Bucky as the #1 goal in the 2013 recruiting class.

Teel confirms the possibility of a visit. #

I didn't even consider the Skyler Mornhinweg -> Marty Mornhinweg -> Vick possibility until he pointed it out to me.

I like our chances better if we get him on campus. It seems like he flew under the radar a bit. But the fact Harbaugh spotted him early is enough for me.

Mike Farrell confirmed it. #

Confirmed through very good source that Skyler Mornhinweg has indeed flipped from #PennState to #Florida.

Oh well, it would've been a nice get late in the process.

Can someone tell me who the walk on fullback commit was? Please say Brandon Sturdivant or Dolphous Pearson. Anyone know for sure?

With the lesser known guys I #

With the lesser known guys I always try to figure out what type of team they're coming from. It seems like Nation Ford had been struggling for a while, but had a great year in 2011.

"Nation Ford wants cosistency as season progresses" -- http://www.heraldonline.com/2011/09/09/3353845/breaking-the-mold.html

But everyone involved with the Nation Ford football program insists this year is different, that this year will be the year it breaks the mold and does something the second half of the season. New coach Michael Allen gets animated when talking about the "all in" philosophy he's trying to instill, and the changes he's seeing.

"To be honest, there's a couple of big differences around here," Allen said. "Number one, our senior leadership is stronger than it's ever been. There's also a huge difference in toughness around here, and I mean physical toughness, mental toughness and emotional toughness.

Here's hoping Sturdivant turns out to be another great find by the coaches.
