Miami interested in Jawand Blue
According to Jeff Greer of the Palm Beach Post, Jawand Blue is scheduled to make his official visit this weekend. However, it looks like Al Golden and Miami are suddenly recruiting the Boca Raton linebacker.

I wonder why Miami took so long to notice him. I watched his highlight tape back when he committed. I was impressed and thought he was underrated.

with Donaldven Manning as well if everyone remembers. It seems to me that Al is getting on the bandwagon of many of his local recruits a tad too late and in some cases cannot convince them to stay home. As someone mentioned earlier, I am surprised recruits are still listening to sales pitches by Miami due to their impending heavy sanctions from the NCAA which may span their entire time/collegiate eligibility. Also, minus that six week stretch in 2005, they haven't been an elite program since their last National Title or even 2003 (I have a theory: that beatdown in Blacksburg began this trouble...would be happy to be paid to present research and findings on the topic!).
As for Golden, I hope he is turning into Al Groh and totally missing on his state's best recruits or alienating high school coaches so one less school in Florida is there for competition.

Anybody have a clue why Miami is going after so many recruits this late when they've already got a class of 31? Something is just puzzling about that to me.

They had a lot of early departures to the NFL and people who left after Golden took over. Plus, they know the hammer is coming and are loading up like USC did last year.
