Thank the Good Lord for Mike London

Any coach with a tad bit more competence would've won that game.
LET'S GO, HOKIES!

Might I add, now more than ever it's time for dramatic changes to the offense.

The U invented Swag, but UVA invented Smug.

Gotta wonder

what London was thinking in those last 2 minutes. Tech driving for a game winning field goal was SSSSOOOO obvious. Why not use your timeouts to preserve time, give your defense a blow, and maybe have a chance to get the ball back? Thank you Coach Mike for the Turkey Day weekend gift. We will be sure to not pay you back next year, which will likely be your last in Hooville if you finish 4-8 with another loss to VT. I WANT THAT "DECADE OF DOMINANCE" T-SHIRT!

Has anyone ever seen a coach double-ice a kicker before? I just assume any coach in that kind of situation would have found a better way to use his timeouts to get another possession instead.

I've tried that in NCAA, and even then it didn't work!

It's happened before

I remember Lloyd Carr trying it against Texas in a Rose Bowl. It worked as well as it did today. I'm sure there are other times but it's generally stupid.

Did You know....

Mike London used to be a cop?

#38-0

I was under the impression that double-icing was against the rules. Maybe that's just NFL.

Correct, just an NFL rule

In college you can call consecutive timeouts, but not in the NFL.

London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down
London Bridge is falling down,
My fair Hokies.

I sang that when he was ignoring his two timeouts hahaha, seated next to my sister (recent UVA graduate).

Two epic goatees. Two epic coaches. Tip of the Spear and The Lunchpail. GRIMES&FOSTER.

Do we need to reserve

DontFireMikeLondon.com? I mean, yes, this game was closer than last year, but I put that more on our horrendous O line (Newsome) and generally offensive philosophy and execution today (O'StineCain). We held their offense to 7 points. Was anyone genuinely worried that if London HAD used his timeouts like a not-idiot that they would have been able to piece together a drive to tie the game? In retrospect, the only shot he had was us missing the field goal and playing for OT. Well, that and our defense forgetting to come back out for OT.
