"To all the Hokie fans talking sh*t...I hear you loud and clear and I will make sure that u guys get everything you deserve good luck because you'll need it and to the fans that are good people and don't understand why your friends keep doing this I am sorry because I promise you the damage is done and there is nothing that you can say to me or my group to make things right you barked up the wrong Tree on this 1. I normally wouldn't care where any kid going to college but now at this point I will never recommend a kid to go to Tech y'all can send all ur hall of fame guys or your current or former NFL guys to come out and try to talk to us and I will tell them the same thing I'm telling you I think your football program is great but but y'all ain't shit ( this is not for all of you only the ones that have been investigating us and putting our information over the Internet ) I will let all my kids know how you feel about the coaches and a current players they play with so keep it up. I am trying to figure out why you so mad at Turtle anyway UVA got best quarterback in a state according to the VHSCA and the coaches got what they wanted the Allstate utility player it's a good thing you got the dad is going to take you to the next level lmao whatever chump."
-Carson Cutler (father of Corwin Cutler)

Run-on sentence much?
Um... what?
He came across as a madman. That entire paragraph is only 3 sentences.
And what's that about "the ones that have been investigating us and putting our information over the Internet"?
Hmmm
Well then...

I have no idea what this is all about but it won't matter when his son is 0-4 or 0-5 against us. Sounds like another guy that's working with one of those 7on7 handlers that love UVA.
hahah
his sons not even that good
If Cutler is starting for UVA, here's what Bud should tell Wyatt Teller before the game. "Hey, Wyatt. Read this. This is what the starting QB for the Wahoos' father said about our football program. I'm sure you'll do the right thing."
"And, Wyatt, when you are done reading, I WANT YOU TO RIP HIS FREAKING HEAD OFF!"
Impossible. He will be too busy pancaking Eli Harold. #Teller4Tackle
Anyone care to clarify what this is about? Not the grammatical errors but the content. We're investigating them? I'm just confused.
I saw his son play a few times (they beat Bucky's high school in a pretty good game) and he's pretty good. But I was never under the impression that any of the coaches or fans really wanted him. I'm just confused.
Psh, Stage Dad.
Well
I just readthis and I have no idea what it means or shit what he's referring to but I'm all amped up because any QB is worse than every QB at UVA but if that causes a fire well then we have fire hoooo boy lets try to dig deeper because who is this guy right? and who is this dude corwin or his dad and is he really a coach. 1. screw the internet because it just causes rumors and 2. so what if recruits at UVA drunkenly kick tires because they'll do as much damage against any flaming tire that we throw in as running back damn that felt good where am I again?
Someone was investigating him and putting his information all over the internet? Why on Earth were they doing that? I sort of wish he were more coherent so I could make some semblence of sense out of what he was saying...
Dafuq did I just read?
Wut?
Okay. Who is Corwin Culter?
Okay.
Who is Corwin Culter? And why is he so pissed at Hokies' fans? He can't handle the heat?
What is this? It reminds me of this twitter parody account:
unreal
i thought theres no way this is real when i saw it. but it made my day
I really want to know of some background behind the account and why it was created but its a hilarious account. The Peach Bowl tweets were extraordinary.
background
seems pretty racist to me
What. The. Fuck.
is this all about? Is he the recruit that got arrested at uva?
No, that was Smoke Mizzell.
and mizzell will soon find himself getting smoked by our Defense
Eh, who cares? Corwin Culter is a 3 star quarterback. Gayle and the rest will eat him for lunch and fart him out later.
His dad? Typical LOUVA apologist.
The kid only had offers from UVA, UConn, Marshall, and ECU. Unless he's some extremely underrated star, which is unlikely since he will be put on the Mike London merry-go-round of QBs, I don't think we missed much on him. Someone just needs to get to the bottom of the whole issue with the 7-on-7 coaches down there swaying players away from us. They're probably spewing the same crap that Mike London does about "Do you want to play for a black guy or an old white guy down in racist southwest Virginia?" At the same time though, if those players have people like Corwin's dad around them or as dumb as Taquan "The Car Kicker" Mizzell, I don't know if we want them.
I thought uva-types were supposed to be erudite and above the fray? That's why they always feel the need to conduct themselves in a smug manner
different breed
I don't think that applies to the football section of uva, just the general population.
If you ask any Wahoo fan...
they'd tell you that even their football players are smarter and more sophisticated than ours, because their admissions requirements are more stringent.
I remember some years ago seeing a very popular message board thread about how they "never bring in the trash from Hampton High School and the like", completely ignoring Marques Hagans from HHS, who at the time was just a couple years from having finished his second season as their starting QB.
I have come to believe that this is a pretty common misconception from within their fan base. Very few, if any, D-1A teams nationwide have significantly more stringent "base admissions requirements" for athletes than what the NCAA requires.
sounds smart
he is going to go play for mike london, enough said about him.
He was jumping all over boards about a year ago trying to get his son's name out there and he didn't like not receiving an offer from vt, and the reception from hokie fans when he was trying to post about his son on some of the boards(pretty much didnt like pointing out flaws his son has in his throwing motion and his decision making.) The investigation part he was referring to was something into his qb camp and school work outs that he helps hold and benefits being received by players for coming. Don't know how much truth it was to the last part because it was a while ago hearing, but i remember him trying to get his son's name out there like any other father that believes his son is the best thing since the invention of the wheel.
I love how his dad calls him "Turtle". I know that's his nickname, but my dad never called me "Hulk".
Let's just wait
and see how much he loves UVA after Mike London promises him playing time then rotates him in and out every series with the other 5 QBs he promised.
Seriously, after seeing how he handled Simms and Rocco, I couldn't imagine a worse situation to put your kid in.
This is a big year for Mike London. His seat is already warm. I think two more down years and he is gone.
OP: where did you find this? Maybe in context it will make more sense.
http://virginia.247sports.com
http://virginia.247sports.com/Board/16/To-all-the-hokie-fans-talking-shit
Thanks, I guess he posted it there so all the wahoos would applaud him for it and further enlarge his ego. Oh well, good luck to his son. I'm not concerned.
The posts by the UVA fans after that are priceless. Some guy actually said that we aren't going to out-recruit UVA for the 757 now. They get a couple of average recruiting classes with a terrible coach and suddenly think they're the best team in the state.
It's actually just a giant circle jerk over there of them thinking they will get all the talent in the 757 and that they have a clean sheet when it comes to players in their program. I don't know much about these 7-on-7 teams and their "coaches"/handlers, but something seems very fishy about them. It would fill my heart with joy if it caused UVA to be investigated. Then again, what would they take from them? Not like they really have that many wins to really do much to their program. Maybe they will just take away a timeout from Mike London every game. It's not like he knows how to use them or anything
No kidding
The fact that we out-recruited them in the 757 and the state of VA in general this year will probably mean nothing to them.
Where did u read this? I know where this is coming from generally but DOH: quit stirring shit up ... People need to let this shit fucking die already
I'm confused...
What does he mean "The damage is already done"?...
I am getting a Harvey Updyke feel about this dude. Craaaaaaay.
I am sure his son is well prepared for UVA's rigorous academic standards.
If trees start dying in Blacksburg...
We know who did it. Look up Coach Cutler.
Link?
Not really finding much in my cursory Google search, just a bunch of stuff about Jay Cutler's coaches...
And if I add "Carson" to the search it just goes to a bunch of family tree websites.
For those of your that are confused.
This is what I gather.
The quote was a post on Wahoos247 (http://virginia.247sports.com/Board/16/To-all-the-hokie-fans-talking-shi...) by Coach Carson who would appear to be Corwin's father, a Virginia signee. Carson is involved with a 7-on-7 team in Virginia Beach named the Thoroughbreds.
Alex Rayner is a Thoroughbreds coach. He had this to say about Tech a while back.
It's clear there's an anti-Tech agenda, but I'm not going to speculate as to what the motivation for that is. Either way, some very talented players in the 757 are on or associated with the team. And as anyone involved with recruiting will say, it's all about relationships recruiters make with the kids, their families, and people close to them. College coaches cannot attend 7-on-7 events, and in some instances kids might spend more time with their 7-on-7 than high school team. It stands to reason the 7-on-7 coaches have a level of influence on the kids they coach.
From the little I've about 7-on-7, it sounds almost as skeezy as AAU hoops.
I strongly suspect that it's simply because the VT coaches wouldn't kiss these guys' butts and/or wouldn't "play the game" by greasing a few palms here and there.
Grammar
All of these tweets and posts make rapper's twitter accounts look like Nikki Giovanni. Thomas Jefferson would be so proud.
Sounds like a douche bag
Besides, I'm pretty sure that Jacob Park, David Cornwell, Bucky, and Carlis are all better than this guy's son, even though according to his father he shits rainbows or something. No coach should use their own personal agenda to influence a player if they really cared about them being the best they could be. The kid's gotta make the decision for himself. All I would have to say to him is
I wonder what was said to him to set him off like this. I imagine it can get ugly for recruits family's some times.
Also, I read through most of the "VT Rap Sheet". While some of it may be minor (the Brandon Pace section sticks out), we had some dumbass players in the 90's & early 2000's. I plan on looking into more of those situations to get a less biased account of what happened.
Guess Hoo
I don't know what is worse, the "Rap Sheet" or the comments from people. Quite the intelligent conversations being had there.
Derp
He tries to cut our football program down shortly after day 3000? I'm quivering in my boots...
since
this can of shit is opened again -- joe is pretty much spot on above ..
from what i gather, rex rayner got upset with a certain vt representative/coach because he wanted them to go through him with the recruitment of one or some of his kids. this vt rep basically said fuck you. he claims that a threatening voice mail was left by a vt representative but refuses to submit proof of that. i think that he wants vt to play that game. i think vt said fuck you. i have about half a mind to believe that one of the main reasons that the bayside coach left is because of this 7on7 political shit.
for those of you wondering who is involved with the 7on7 program in question, the thoroughbreds:
smoke mizzell, jamil kamara, quin blanding, turtle cutler, and others
i believe that rex rayner is one of the coaches. i know that carson cutler is heavily involved with the 'breds (not sure if he's a coach or not). obviously, 5* DT andrew brown is turtle cutler's cousin << there's the connection there.
there's a lot of rumors here and there but i think the basis for all of this is pretty simple: the 7on7 coaches wanted to be involved with the recruitment of these young men (having handlers is basically an ncaa violation unless they knew them prior to the recruitment which is sort of their "out"), vt wanted to deal with the kids, parents, and high school coaches, and there lies the dilemma.
fwiw: i think that cornell brown and stinespring are trying (or will be trying) to repair some of the damage done by this dilemma.
This ^^^^^
This ^^^^
This is something that Tech fans are just going to need to leave alone and let play out behind the scenes it is what it is. The fact of the matter is a lot of these kids look at some of these coaches as father figures, and they do play a role in their decisions. I don't necessarily agree with that nor do I want someone who can't make a decision on their own playing for my squad but that's just me.
Cutlers going to red-shirt anyways since he broke his leg, not to mention they have 67 qbs on the roster who were guaranteed playing time, & in two years it will be priceless to see the Notorious TOB deal with this kids father once London gets the can.
Yeah, it would be really easy to laugh about this...
...until you realize that Carson Cutler and Alex Raynor are actually very, very influential people in the circle of players we desperately need at Virginia Tech.
So, as much as I would like to ignore this, it is quite troubling.
So should we chalk this up to bulletin board/forum material and an added wrinkle to the commonwealth cup rivalry? OR should we be concerned?
Not troubling. Influence ebbs and flows, and it probably flows away faster for those who post maniacal rants like Carson Cutler.
This too shall pass.
If you want to dig down to the real truth of it, Carson Cutler is just miffed that VT chose not to recruit his kid since we had better options available to us. Besides, it's pretty obvious just from reading his post that the guy isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Blood is thicker than water
Having worked with inner city delinquents, Mr. Cutler's rant has a familiar ring to it. It seems as though there may be a tribe mentality type of thing going on here. If these kids and their folks are tight like that, then there may be a, "Yo, Turtle my cousin so if y'all talkin shit then y'all ain't shit, so fuck tech."
That type of thinking can get reinforced really strongly within a tight-knit group, especially if there are family ties involved. That's concerning to me. Hopefully the coaches can salvage the situation. It just seems like the thoroughbred coaches just want their butts kissed.
I feel really bad for the kids, though. What they need most are positive male role models and character development. An ex-cop might be a draw in that department, but Beamer co. is a proven commodity for character development. I thought thugs hated cops, anyway.. What gives?
that area
isn't inner city.
try another stereotype.
Thx BCO, I appreciate your posts when I've read them. Didn't know that would be perceived as stereotyping. "Tribe mentality" doesn't have to be inner city, and that was the pattern I was sharing about. It's concerning to me if there is a grudge against VT among some members of a tight-knit group who may hold sway over a number of top in-state recruits. Thugs and cops joke was perhaps out of line... But CC's dad seems like a douche who's trying to be thug
it's cool
just saying that area isn't inner city. i get what you are saying and i'm far from being the most politically correct person, but it's something fans should carefully choose the words for.
bw, i am concerned too. the group has a 2 or 3 school influence, arguably the best schools on the lower 757 other than oscar smith (who has other uva ties.)
cc does come off bad, the problem is message boarders, and people on twitter (i have been just as guilty) fan the flames when they bring it up, further cementing us vs them mentality.
this site isn't as bad but i'd say at least 3 tech paysites have done NOTHING to help the cause and likely hurt it.
VT is very aware of the situation.
i agree ... continuing to bring it up is not really helping the situation
"Yo, Turtle my cousin so if
"Yo, Turtle my cousin so if y'all talkin shit then y'all ain't shit, so fuck tech." "Didn't know that would be perceived as stereotyping."
Its not as bad as Whoopie Golberg (*spelling*) saying Michael Vick was "raised in the deep deep south"
yeah
i have a feeling that's when this will all come to a screaching halt .... or if VT would just win a damn natty, then everything else will take care of itself
I've heard that Turtle will prep for a year, because of depth. I wouldn't be surprised if he opened up his recruitment again and never goes to UVA.
this vt rap sheet is amazing, our players are the worst people in the world and every single player that went through uvas program are model citizens...freakin joke
It was posted by a Sooners fan in an OU forum. Why was OU hating on us in 06? Strange
Several things
1. Fuck Oklahoma. As insufferable as Longhorns fans are, the one thing going for them is that they aren't Sooners fans. Horrible people.
2. My professor for criminology used to tutor the team when most of these incidents occurred, and is more than willing to talk about "her guys." From the stories she tells, several incidents on this rap sheet are rather trumped up. Not saying the players are perfect, but we have never been comparable to the '80s Hurricanes.
3. Because once isn't enough, fuck Oklahoma.
HAHAHAHA, OU fans are awful
About 10 years ago, I split about 6 months between Ok City and Altus, OK. 1. Don't ever fucking go to Altus. 2. The OU fans out there drove me to be an Ok State fan out of spite. Just awful. I went to OU's spring game and that helped convince me. Their obsession with Texas is unhealthy.
This is ridiculous coming from a coach. I get that some of the fans may have crossed lines and pushed him but you are responsible for shaping kids into young men. An incoherent (and misspelled/grammatically incorrect) rant like this is completely inexcusable. If I were a parent of one of the kids (and putting my Hokieness aside) I'd be looking at pulling my kid or pushing for some sort of disciplinary action against him. This post makes him sound like a raging lunatic and I wouldn't want him around my kids. I'm glad someone like this doesn't help represent VT because it would be a massive embarrassment. Bravo UVA on another douche bag praising your university. You've got to think that eventually they will reach douche bag capacity at which point Jefferson will rise from the dead and symbolically destroy that which he created.
Stay classy #LOLUVA
who the fuck is corwin cutler?
a douche bag
To be fair
His dad is the dbag, not Corwin.
my apologies to Corwin. Your father is a massive douche bag.
Because any time you're a 3 star QB prospect and have the opportunity to play for the Head Ball Cop, you just have to do it.
In my honest opinion this guy is supposed to be a role model for the kids he teaches. I am always for defending and sicking up for ones self, but when you are alot of young kids "role model", especially in alot of these "757 areas" this is when this coach needs to take a high road no matter what was said to him and just suck it up and not post what he wrote above on the public internets. To me this sets a bad example for any kids that happen to see this. I would be embarraced if i was associated with UVA and saw this guy supporting UVA. Some role model this guy is. Kinda doesnt suprise me that one of his kids in his 7on7 program (Smoke) has already gotten in trouble if this is how this guy acts on a regular basis.
If I understand this right, Cutler seems to be involved with some sketchy 7 on 7 teams that may not be exactly on par with the NCAA. If there's anything sketchy involved with ANY recruits then you know Frank Beamer and Crew will stay out of it. That could be a reason why Blanding and Cutler did didn't get offers. Smoke did however. Interesting. His comments don't really bother me though. I hear this stuff all the time from 14 year old hot shots around here that think they know football. It just goes to show what kind of person Papa Cutler is.
Have fun Mr. Teller!
wow
this ran on so badly that i couldnt even grip the point of it, what the hell was he trying to even say? anyway fact of the matter is good riddance, I dont want someone from that gene pool of stupidity attending my school anyway... real class act you got there UVA
HokieNation
This is definitely not good coming from our main recruiting ground. I think it would be a longshot to land Andrew Brown after reading this. Who knows, maybe he's not listerning to that crap though. I know one thing for sure. We are the HokieNation. We've have been through much more difficult times than this. It very well may impact a few recruits, but we will find our players and make them tougher. They'll be Hokies and that's why they'll beat the piss out of UVA. This garage will fade away. I take pride in knowing that are coaching staff is honorable and rule-abiding. Go Hokies!
In the long run, it will work to our advantage. Soon these idiots will be recognized for what they are and UVA's program will emerge sullied for having so blatantly sucked up to them.
A+ Writing
There are more run-on sentences in that rant than people at UVA's Spring Game.
He probably learned his writing and grammar at UVA.
A minus 1?
Is there a UVA fan on here??
Blanding and kamara were both offered. We have no chance with blanding and very little with JK .. Brown will likely not be a hokie but I don't think he will end up at uva either
he'll be
hating on hargrave next year.
Why is that?
Does Hargrave not feel like hooking him and his boys up with jobs, too?
he is going to prep
hasn't qual'd yet and has to recover from knee surgery.
For what it's worth, the counter-argument from the enemy side (scroll to the botttom):
http://fromoldvirginia.blogspot.com/2013/04/weekend-review.html
smh @ uva. that is all
Where do they hear this stuff? Seriously. It's like a middle school cafeteria on some of these boards. He said, she said, they say. I do not believe anything I just read.
One of the quotes is a guy saying how Cutler is a good man and how he does so much for the 757 area... yet he isn't saying Cutler... he is saying "Coach Carson". The editor had to point out that he meant Cutler. LOL. Yeah man, you really know your shit...
