Virginia Tech-6 Radford-1

Virginia Tech rode a strong performance from the mound and solid hitting on their way to a comfortable 6-1 over the Radford Highlanders. The pitchers were Sean Keselica (4 IP), Luis Collazo (2 IP and got the W), Tanner McIntyre (1.2 IP and 1 ER), and Sean Kennedy (1.1 IP) and they all combined to allow 9 hits and only one run. Brendon Hayden had a grand slam in the 1st inning and the Hokies didn't look back from there. Tom Stoffel and Ryan Tufts each had 1 RBI respectively. The Hokies improved to 3-2 on the season while the Highlanders fell to 2-6. Here is the full recap. The Hokies will get back to action this Friday with a tournament at English Field with UMass Lowell and Cincinnati competing. The Hokies will battle the Bearcats first on Friday at 4pm at English Field and will be carried by ESPN3. They then battle UMass Lowell on Saturday at 2pm, Sunday at 11am against UMass Lowell again, and then Cincinnati again at 2pm on Sunday which will be covered by ESPN3. They also battle William and Mary next Wednesday at English Field at 5:30pm in the last game before the ACC Season starts.
