Hello everyone, brand new poster to the site but have been following TKP for around a year. I hate to start off by soliciting for money, but I know Hokie Nation is a generous bunch! With that being said:
Local police officers, deputy sheriffs and firefighters have teamed up and are proud to announce the Inaugural Montgomery County Guns & Hoses Charity Softball game. The game will be played on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at English Field on the Virginia Tech campus. Virginia Tech baseball plays Duke at 2:00pm and the charity softball game will be played 30-45 minutes following the conclusion of the baseball game, with an approximate start time of 5:30pm. Entry to both games will be free with police and fire volunteers collecting donations.
A rain date has not been set and if Virginia Tech Baseball is required to play a double-header a make-up date is not currently available.
The Guns Team will consist of players representing the Blacksburg Police, Christiansburg Police, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Radford Police and the Virginia Tech Police Departments. The Hoses Team will be made up of firefighters representing Blacksburg Fire, Christiansburg Fire, Elliston Fire, Longshop-McCoy Fire and Riner Fire Departments.
100% of Proceeds will benefit Special Olympics of Virginia
