QB Controversy at OSU next year?

It's still November 2014, but there's already a clear winner for the honor of 2015's most intriguing quarterback situation. Take a bow, Ohio State, where current Heisman Trophy candidate J.T. Barrett has been exceptional -- as in, school-record exceptional -- in replacing former Heisman Trophy candidate Braxton Miller.
Urban Meyer said in September that Miller would have the starting job waiting for him when he returns from shoulder surgery for a fifth-year senior season in 2015. But his public stance seems to have softened on that in recent weeks, leading to speculation -- though nothing beyond that -- that Miller might consider a transfer. Miller is expected to graduate from Ohio State, making him immediately eligible in 2015 should he transfer out of the program.

But NFL.com reported Tuesday that Miller is not exploring a transfer and "plans to stay -- for now."

"Two sources close to Miller," reporter Chase Goodbread writes, "say the quarterback's plan for now is to remain at Ohio State and lead the Buckeyes in 2015, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer."

Miller could also enter the 2015 NFL Draft, though he said when his season-ending shoulder injury was confirmed that he would return to school.

Of course, anonymous sources that can't even assure the Buckeye faithful that Miller won't feel differently next week won't stop the rumor mill or idle chatter about how Miller would look in, say, Oregon green. But the news could always be worse, of course -- Miller could already be planning his post-Columbus career, and as of now, there's still no indications he is.

Side note one of the "talking heads" even suggested VT could take a look at Miller if he were to leave.
