Weekly Weather report, Wake Forest Game

Wow was that game.whew my heart stopped at least three times last week, but a win is a win, and it has got to be the most memorable one Ive seen since Marshall last year. The team fought and clawed its way to a gritty blue collar victory that weve become used to from Virginia tech over the years. That game was something our team had gotten away from this season, and hopefully this win will help this young team turn the corner on these close wins. If we win even half of our one possession losses/games were looking at an 8-2 7-3 team right now that everyone is loving on. Thats youth ladies and gentlemen, and we said coming into the season that we would be patient with the growing pains, and lets be frank here we really havent. We knew there would be highs and lows (see Ohio state, see Miami) and we have endured them and hopefully this win over a Duke team that just finds ways to win will help us realize our potential and end on a good note. Its up to the coaches at this point to bring the team out focused so that we dont endure a similar streak to that of October and beat the absolute ever loving tar out of Wake Forest and UVA. These last few games probably wont be pretty, and I guarantee you I will be right there with you groaning during the mistakes, but if they put in the same effort that they did last week Ill be proud of this team at the end of the year and they will go bowling and probably beat that community college up north which (as predicted) has begun unravelling as the season has rolled on.

HA

IT NEVER GETS OLD!

Last week was a gritty performance in some cold weather, this weekend is going to be a little bit warmer. With that polar vort.er dip in the jet stream gone temperatures have reverted to their norm. Also fortunately for us theres a high pressure system rolling through giving us some clear skies

ahhhh weather

that right there is the two day forecast (AKA Saturdays forecast)

the jet stream is reverting back to its norm after that massive dip finally pushes through around Friday and we should see temperatures begin to steadily rise after that. Sure enough the forecasts are pointing towards that (more Saturday I suppose but thats moot point)
side note can we begin calling moot points mook points if he sticks with us?!

Back to weather, and fooseball, its gonna be chilly this weekend but not windy, so while it wont be miserable like im sure a good portion of the early duke game was, it wont be pleasant either. So for the first time since practically the ohio state game it seems, mother nature will not be to big of a factor this weekend! With that I think we need to establish some sort of running game and pray to god that three things happen this week!

1.)JC coleman gets rolling again, and chants of GO JC GO JC GO can be heard by all of my neighbors)
2.)JC coleman and everyone else on offense stops getting hurtplease, not only do these ACL tears hurt the season, but they severely hamper the players development in the spring and offseason.
3.)Brewer throws a pick? For those of you that know me, im very superstitious.. like VERY superstitious, so I vote we dont chance fate and force him to throw a pick at some point like a hail mary at the end of the half.
a.Side note of course as Im writing this I become aware that yet another hokie RB (Jerome Wright) is out for the season..what is this?! ARE WE CURSED?!?!?!?!?!?

Regardless, While I certainly dont think this cold weather plays into our advantage it certainly doesnt help wake either. Their running game.surprisingly.is in worse shape than ours right now (averaging just over 1 ypc). The cold weather is going to make it quite difficult to catch the ball and make a play afterwards, thus I believe whichever team can establish a better run game ought to have a significant advantage this week. Dont expect to be a shootout as both teams are defensively stronger, and both running games have been struggling. With the ball being as cold and hard as it is, I expect it to be a whole lot harder to catch for corners as well. That being said with the lack of wind and rain, hopefully our playmakers can still make some plays on the outside. I see a hokie victory, that may be a tad ugly, but Buds boys will eventually be the difference makers making plays in the backfield as they have all season, we cant let them get an early lead, because then the pressure will just build on the offense.

Wow that table turned into a jumbled mess, basically, high of 44 Friday afternoon that will dip down to 26 with clear skies (heat escapes during the clear skies) so stay warm on the drive down, there will be little to no wind chill so I wouldn't be to concerned. Saturday will feature some slightly warmer temperatures, as it creeps up to around 50 for kickoff and the middle of the day, the low will drop down once again as clear skies come back to bite us in the evening. Winds will be blowing in from the south, but not with any particular umph. Sunday will see some warm weather begin to creep in with temperatures climbing up into the mid to high 50s. Clouds will come with it, and eventually some precipitation early next week, the good news to this however is that the low only drops to 47 Sunday night. So at least things will be warming up a little bit!!!!

score (if we lose well officially know I should never pick us again)

High 48
Low 25
Kickoff 46
Southerly 5 mph winds
No cloud cover
No precip
VT 20
Wake 6
BRING A BLANKET
