Ask TKP: Family-friendly events on Labor Day weekend?

We generally take the kids (now aged 3 and 1) to the Blacksburg area for a weekend during the season. This year it will be the weekend before the OSU game since we don't have a Thursday nighter.

Since our weekend is usually later in September or October, this year I haven't a clue what is going on over the weekend. Our usual go-to fall harvest events won't be underway yet, and the Sunday night concert isn't something to take a couple of toddlers to.

So, for the Hokies and the Buckeyes who will be bringing young kids to the area in a couple of weeks: what will there be to do in town or nearby on Saturday and Sunday?
