Don't know how many of you are following this story, but it just keeps getting more and more absurd by the day. For those of you who haven't been following:
- February 17th, Chris Jones was suspended by Louisville for one game for an unspecified violation of team rules, and was left on campus as the team traveled to Syracuse for a game.
- February 19th, Jones was reinstated by the team after missing the Syracuse game.
- February 21st, Jones plays 36 minutes, scoring 17 points with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals while helping lead the Cardinals to a 55-53 home win over Miami.
- February 22nd, Chris Jones was suspended and subsequently dismissed from Louisville for apparently sending a threatening text message to a woman whom he had a relationship with, threatening to "smack the f*** out of her".
- February 25th, authorities issue a warrant for the arrest of Chris Jones for raping one woman and sodomizing another, actions which supposedly happened on February 21st, after the home win against Miami.
Ummm... All I can say is wow, what an absolute mess up there in Kentucky, and what a complete embarrassment to everyone associated with the Louisville program. I don't really have any love lost for the Cards after their antics to royally screw us over back in the days of the Metro, but even I feel bad for everyone involved. What an ugly situation and a black eye to the ACC in one of its best seasons on the court in a very long time.
