Weekly Weather Report ACC Championship

Dear hokies everywhere: WE'RE BACK IN THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP. I wanted to be a contender but did not realistically think we'd be at this point in year 1 of Fuente's reign. I knew we had talent but I thought there would be some serious growing pains (to be fair there were a couple of moments where the growing pains were evident) but this team has shown some serious grit to get through the season as well as they have and to send themselves to the ACC championship, and now I happily get to do this at least two more times, including this one. Likewise last week was the first hokie game I got to make this season and ermergerd was it fun beating the tar out of the UVA fans. You know its getting bad when your mother leans forward and asks you, "god can we just put them out of their misery? I almost feel bad for them"

No mom, no we cannot. It was a pretty good feeling

eshiben5 last saturday

But the job is not yet done this season. Clemson is on the docket and is by far the most talented team we've faced this year, possibly one of the top 2 most talented rosters in the country this year. The hokies need to come out guns blazing and the offense needs to be prepped to put up some serious points saturday.

But I'm not the best X's and O's guy so I will be reporting on the forecast for those hokies making the trip down to Orlando (ugh couldn't we have left in Charlotte?!)

Now last time I forecasted in Florida I was humbled pretty fricken hard. It was my first year forecasting for you guys and I vaguely recall telling everybody that there was no way in hell it would rain and the national weather service forecast was wrong. It proceeded to do this

it was damn near a torrential downpour all game

Foot meet mouth. I feel like I'm going to seriously redeem myself this time around because...well my forecast agrees with just about everyone else in the country. ITS GOING TO BE GORGEOUS OUT, albeit a bit breezy. If you're driving down tonight you might see a little drizzle at some point but a blocking will be moving into position tomorrow and should bring with it lots of hot air up from the gulf region. This should give way to a low pressure system floating in from the Mexico region giving way to some rain monday and tuesday in the region. but that shouldn't be much of an issue. I would however expect some heavier winds with sustained speeds reaching 10 mph and gusts getting around 15 - 18 range. I also think it could get pretty humid. While we've jumped a bit off of the TOP bandwagon I definitely think if either of the defensive units are hung out to dry for the game it could definitely wear on them by the 4th quarter and I expect a lot of points to get scored in the end of the game if exhaustion starts to creep into the defenses.

lets hope we're not dragging our feet like this guy by the 4th

Ultimately I think this game will come down to establishing a running game. This is a HUGE step up from UVA's sorry defensive line, lets hope the big boys are ready to battle because it could get ugly in a hurry if we cant, should we keep Clemson off balance however I fully expect us to take advantage. Their offense is going to make plays and ours needs to be more than ready to keep up. Side note i wouldn't be surprised for Fuente to throw everything hes got at this game, I fully expect a trick play or two

Final predictions
High - 78
Low 62
Clear Skies
Kickoff - 66
Humidity - 70% (will increase as the game progresses)
Rain - i promise this time its not gonna happen
Winds - north travelling - sustained winds around 10-12 mph and gusts reaching roughly 15

GO HOKIES!!!!!
