2016 Postseason Awards

Now that the regular season is over the awards have started being given out.

Coach Fuente won both the ACC media Coach of the Year and the AP ACC Coach of the year award.

Fuente, the first-year coach at Tech, adds the AP honor to the ACC Coach of the Year award he earned last week from the voting media. He heads into Tech's meeting Dec.29 against Arkansas (7-5) in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, N.C., with a chance to become the first Tech coach to win 10 games in his first season in Blacksburg.

Evans won ACC newcomer of the year award.

While Fuente doubled up on coach-of-the-year honors, Tech quarterback Jerod Evans split the AP's Newcomer of the Year with Florida State redshirt freshman quarterback Deondre Francois. Last week, Francois won ACC Rookie of the Year from the media
