OT: Trailer for Season 3 of Star Wars: Rebels Released

The trailer for Season 3 of Star Wars: Rebels was released over the weekend.

There were several revealation about the upcoming season including:

  • Grand Admiral Thrawn being added back into the official continuity.
  • A youngish Wedge Antilles defecting from an Imperial academy with a group of cadets.
  • Sabine at some point acquires the darksaber last seen in Maul's possession during the Clone Wars series.

For anyone that read any of the old EU/Legends novels, Thrawn being reintroduced is big. It has also been announced that the original creator of Thrawn, Timothy Zahn, will be writing a new canon novel about the Chiss Grand Admiral to be published in April 2017.
