He's one of the most insightful writers out there when it comes to college football. As part of his countdown of each team, he's delved deep into the advanced analytics for each team out there.

Admittedly, he whiffed on VT's projection last year, as the defense hemorrhaged yards to mobile QBs and deep passes. He's probably overconfident on the resurgence of our DBU, as we're in transition from Torrian Gray (pour one out).

Moreover, I wished he'd devoted more analysis to our line play to justify his balmy predictions. Particularly, one aspect of his statistics that stood out to me was the way that our line play regressed on passing downs. Given the talents that we had on the line last year, the gameplan seemed to have neutralized our pass rushing ability on passing downs. Does anyone remember more specifics on the way that we shifted in and out of our Bear or 48 fronts on passing downs?

That said, his breakdown on Fuente's typical offensive strategy were quite interesting. While I tend to be allergic to offensive systems without a system (especially after Loeffler), the flexibility to adjust ones' system to the offensive assets available could result in a much more smooth transition. I'd be interested in seeing how he utilizes the previous experience of the wideouts with passing triangles / rub routes vs. moving to a system emphasizing wideout isolation.
