2017 Spring Game Plans

Who is going? Who is tailgating, and where? What do you most want to see out of the game?

Sadly I'm stuck in upstate NY, can't really afford to make the trip.

Anybody know if it'll be on the radio? Might be nice to at least hear some familiar names even if I can't watch either in person or online.

It will be on tunein app.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

That'll work nicely! Thanks!

I'll be there, probably tailgating in the Chicken Hill lot somewhere. Really looking forward to seeing the QBs, seeing the progress of our OL and how the running game looks, and seeing who is stepping up at WR.

Forecast right now says decent chance of showers Saturday morning, so let's hope that changes as the week progresses. Will be in the mid to upper-60s though, so at least it will be warm.

Going. Will try and tailgate if possible. Excited to see the OL and QB.

I've organized a 4th annual tailgate with friends. Weather permitting, we will be tailgating in the Cassell lot directly across from the Ambler Johnston Halls. We'll be parked there so we can set up a couple canopies in that grassy area between the parking lot and Washington St. We'll have beer (homebrew!), bourbon, burgers, and bacon, and some other food too. I'll be wearing my TKP shirt, so feel free to swing by!

The 4 B's of a well-balanced tailgate

Going. Haven't yet decided between tailgating or drinking downtown beforehand. Excited to see HOKIE FOOTBALL!!!

Can't argue with that.

As much fun as Lot 18 is, we will be moving that to either Chicken hill or Litton Reeves for this. I think we tend to prefer up against the grass in the Litton Reeves lot. Look for our signal!

flag pole game is strong

Super nit-picky but shouldn't the US flag be above all the other flags?

You are not wrong for being nit picky. It is just the angle of the photograph, the American Flag was for sure flying higher than the rest.

UM NO GOD BLESS NASCAR!! RAISE HELL PRAISE DALE!! /s

Only six more months...

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

On TV, I absolutely loathe Martinsville. At the track, those people know how to get weird, and it's fantastic.

Myself, Magic Rat, Hokieenginerd, and Mrs. Hokieenginerd are gunning for Chicken Hill. I plan to start setting up and crack a beer by 830 that morning. We will come over and find all of you guys and girls at some point I'm sure. Need us to bring any Yuengling?

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

We honestly may just do Chicken hill, thats where we were last year. I will let you know. And due to the inability of one of our buddies to read, Busch Heavy is now our beer of choice to carry around but not drink.

I think we have actually finished all the Yuengling, finally.

going, not sure where im tailgating. as close as I can get I guess lol. excited to see the young WRs hopefully make some plays and some YACCCCC!!!!

I will probably heading over by myself from Hampton. Anyone mind if I crash your tailgate?

I'll be there Friday night. Heard Mike's closed so not sure where to eat though. :(
Anybody hear about any autographs? Tyrod and Bam signed at chicken hill lot last year.

Hokies fan since 1998

I'm planning on heading down, however, the forecast is looking a bit worse today than yesterday. (Paging Eshiben!)

We're planning on being up on Chicken Hill. I've got a Hokie Club breakfast in the morning, then tailgating soon after that is over.

Had fun last year, but the increased distance now that we are in PA is just too far for this one. Much like my tailgating time during the season, it's just not as feasible.

If you're reading the above post and thinking, "is this guy serious?!?," you can safely assume I'm not.

What really worries me is the weather for this one. Planning on making the trip but thunderstorms in the forecast make me uneasy since that's the only likelihood of it being cancelled.

@vtscottyb

A couple of years ago when the gamed was stormed out we just tailgated all day and then went downtown. Honestly I wasn't too upset.

where is our friendly TPK weather man! 9 hour drive for thunderstorms and possible no spring game is worrying me! someone send me some good news please!

According to NOAA, rain chance is up to 90% in Blacksburg for Saturday. We are making the trip tomorrow and staying the night in Salem. Definitely making alternate plans and leaving earlier Saturday.

Well, this weather forecast sucks. I was planning on making the trip down, but with the thunderstorms in the forecast, along with the solid rain chance all day tomorrow in Blacksburg (90%-100%), I just cannot justify making the drive down.

Doesnt really matter where you are in the Mid-Atlantic, it's gonna get wet.

The beer is still gonna flow like wine at the tailgate, then we will see what is up.
