Teel Time: Comparing Whit's new contract and extension to other AD's in ACC.

Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock's new contract bumps his base salary by more than 22 percent and his annual retention bonus by more than 64 percent. The deal adds $100,000 in yearly deferred income.

In short, Babcock will make a minimum of $996,750 in 2017, with routine bonuses for team performance almost certain to take him beyond $1 million.

As Teel says this new salary isn't the biggest in the ACC and definitely not the biggest in P5 but it's a great step in keeping Whit in Blacksburg. The numbers that surprised me were Duke playing so much and LOLUVA and Clemson paying so little.
