ESPN has a story where Saban shares some ideas about scheduling at the playoffs.
Short version - he thinks Power 5 teams should only play Power 5 teams.
I really think his opinion would be stronger if he put his money where his mouth is and fixed Alabama's schedule first. It looks like Alabama's standard OOC schedule is play a P5 team at a neutral site in week 1, play two G5 schools that no one really knows, and then an FCS team the week before Auburn. (Even that opening week game appears to be getting weaker. While they have FSU this year, they take on Louisville next year, followed by Duke in 2019.)
I know there's the "other schools need to be willing to schedule" argument, but that same story shows that Jimbo Fisher has similar thoughts.
