Lady Hokies Basketball Recruiting

Just felt that Coach Brooks deserved some recognition on here for the influx of talent he has brought to the ladies side in just two years. He is giving Buzz a run for his money. The one area that hurt the Hokies late in the season last year was the lack of depth down low. With the incoming class and transfers becoming eligible, the Hokies should add four to the frontcourt at 6'2 or taller along with two guards that were All American or considered the top prospect from JUCO.

Here is the latest coup for Coach Brooks,

Taylor Emery
5'10 Guard
Averaged 19 points while shooting 43% from outside.
Will be able to start immediately, which will streamline the loss of Panoussis
Believe she comes in with two years of eligibility remaining. She played one year in JUCO and one year at Tulane.
Her senior year of high school she averaged 36.5 PPG.

This is another member of the incoming class for Coach Brooks

Third member of incoming class

Last member of the class
Celeste Akoro, 14th rated post player in the class. She is currently 6'4 so could be a monster with Magarity down low. Also, Akoro has a 16 year old sister that is in the final stages of competing to make the U17 US roster so the potential to bring family in could be a big deal.

Also keep in mind that two transfers become eligible to play this coming season as well.

Erin Garner, 6'3 forward from Georgia Tech
Michelle Berry, 6'2 forward from Cal State Fullerton
