MV7 has finished paying off his debt

Michael Vick made the final $1.5 million payment to creditors on Thursday, meaning he paid back $17.4 million of the $17.6 million that he owed when he filed for bankruptcy in July 2008

Really happy for him. This quote really stood out to me

I didn't want to stiff people who never stiffed me

I know he's a polarizing figure, but this was a standup move. Glad he's now free from this. Now that he's retired he's started a clothing company called V7, for those who were unaware, on top of his Fox Sports commentary.

I really enjoyed seeing this.

I know plenty of people that still will always hate Michael Vick (I have a number of big time dog lovers on my Facebook feed that literally posted this article just to keep ripping him and talk about he is an awful human being)

I suppose they are allowed to feel however they want. Obviously I have a different outlook just in the sense that he was THE MAN during my time in Blacksburg, but as a big Eagles fan and being aware of all the work he did when he was part of that team, and has continued to do, and this just being another positive example. The guy screwed up bigly. He also made legitimate and sincere efforts to make it right and in my opinion has. That speaks a lot to his character as far as I am concerned.

He screwed up, but unlike so many others I really believe he's tried his best to learn from his mistakes and turn his life around. From outward appearances he seems to be doing everything right. I'm a huge dog lover and I don't condone violence against animals, but I believe in second chances. He's done well! I'll always be one of his biggest supporters! Go Mike Vick!

I'm always going to pronounce that "VT" no matter what anyone says.

If you're reading the above post and thinking, "is this guy serious?!?," you can safely assume I'm not.

Aaaand now I can't unsee it.

Maybe we can adopt his logo to replace the new academic logo.

And then maybe it can become a huge brand and we can make basketball teams everywhere wear gear with a football player on them

I like this idea, a lot, and if we beat Pitt this week I won't have to use this lollipop avatar I'm currently sporting any longer. Vick needs to write a book, "How to Earn 17 Million Plus in Nine Years".

Go Hokies. Beat Pitt!

Hats off to Michael for taking this approach. Many people would not have. Heck, I have a family member who was perfectly ok with leaving his creditors holding the bag -- most of them small business owners who were also neighbors and friends in our rural community.

My husband and I love our pets like family. But I believe forgiveness is available to everyone. And I'm happy to see Michael making good choices. He has a lot of life yet to live, and countless opportunities to influence other lives for the better -- perhaps even more so because of his history. I wish him the best.

"Tajh Boyd over the middle . . . and it's caught for an interception! Michael Cole, lying flat on his back, ARE YOU KIDDING???"

He also didn't need to declare this type of bankruptcy. He could have declared the type where his debt would have been owed back cents on the dollar, but instead he declared in a way where he owed back every single penny.

He deserves some credit for sticking to his values.

I don't care what any naysayers say, I'm a fan. Which is why I argued strongly, on this board and others, for including him in the VT Sports Hall of Fame.

On of my all time favorites. Love Mike Vick. Glad he did this as well. Seems to be just a stand up dude.

Kids still drool when they visit and are next to him on the sideline. Love him.

If you can't forgive Vick, you can't forgive anybody. He has absolutely turned everything about his life around, and done everything right.

He's inducted to the Hokie HOF right?

Waho's suck
Uva swallows

Yes and deservedly so.

MV7 is the epitome of what this country is about, giving 2nd chances to people. He has learned from his mistake and has made strides in his life so that he will not make that mistake again. This has been going on for years and people still want to dismiss this and only look at one thing, which shows they cannot or don't want to forgive him. I personally love telling people about how he has done all this while never placing the blame on anyone else.

Much respect to him and wish him all the best in what he does. Hope he ends up coaching at Tech one day.

Awesome V7!

Year 3 is coming up!
