Didn't see Adonis Alexander in the Pitt game?

Is he injured or in the dog house again? Also wondering what is happening with the Beckett kid at LB? I have heard nothing about his court case which I heard was supposed to be in October and we are now half way through November?

Been on the injury reports for a few weeks with a hamstring problem.

He was in street clothes on the sideline. I doubt we see him next week either with a hammy issue. Luckily Stroman is playing like an all american and Fayscon has been playing decent recently.

Haha for some reason my brain fritzed out while reading this and I thought it said,

Luckily Stroman is an american and Fayscon has been playing recently.

Still accurate.

STRO is my favorite player

Stonewall Jackson High School is my favorite player, Stroman/Floyd/Settle. Manassas won the game today!

This proud Osbourn Park alum agrees.

(For those that don't know, Osbourn Park and Stonewall Jackson are rival high schools in Manassas)

Wait, I thought Osbourn and Osbourn Park were rivals?

Wait, what?

Not really, at least when I was there. They all play in the Cedar Run district, but Osbourn is a city school, OP and SJ are county. So the rivalry there was more natural; we have some neighborhoods where kids went to OP on one side of the street, and the other went to SJ. So the rivalry there was more meaningful because we knew people at the other school.

Osbourn treats OP as a rival, but it may not go the other way. Osbourn doesn't have another HS in the city, so OP is the closest.

They also don't like Battlefield.

Wait, what?

Speaking of which...what's up with Peoples? His ankle injury must be wore than the sprain.

We put the K in Kwality

Ankle sprains are common but i think it can be deceiving since the severity ranges so dramatically. I'm no doctor but from personal experience a severe ankle sprain is not an easy fix.

Through the years, I've heard bad things about a "high ankle sprain". Tough to recover from as opposed to lower sprains. Like you, I'm no doctor, and I haven't heard People's sprain so characterized, but that'd be my guess.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Ankle sprains take a while to mend, especially if you try to come back too soon, as most players try to do. You can tape them up to give it a go, but depending on the severity, that doesn't always do the trick, but it probably also depends on what position you play. I personally would think it would be easier for an offensive player to come back than a defensive player, purely because defense is reactionary, and that would place more stress on the ankle. I missed about half my junior year nursing a severely sprained ankle, which probably also had ligament damage, based on the softball-size swelling and the assortment of colors associated with it, but back in those days it was like rest it as much as possible, tape it up before practices and games, and see how it reacts.

severely sprained ankle, which probably also had ligament damage

That's what a sprain is: ligament damage. Sprains affect ligaments, strains affect contractile tissue (muscle or tendon). The severity ranges anywhere from overstretching the ligaments (grade 1) to completely tearing them (grade 3), which usually requires surgical repair.

High ankle sprains take so much longer to recover because of the type of tissue affected. Long story short, the tissue that "connects" the tibia (shinbone) to your fibula (outer bone of your lower leg) tears/ruptures, and this takes longer to heal than injuring other ankle ligaments. Hope this helps!

I don't think Peoples should get the bulk of the carries anyway. McClease has better speed and can make defenders miss.

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

Injury's really lit him up.

If you're reading the above post and thinking, "is this guy serious?!?," you can safely assume I'm not.

You should've made this comment at 4:20.

Fuente is so odd about injuries. Nijman is rumored to be out for the year but is listed as questionable. Murphy and Patterson dress for games but then have no shot at playing (PP playing now). We saw AAs injury so we know he's probably out for uva, maybe back by Bowl.

What happened to Slye? I didn't hear a peep on the broadcast about his whereabouts. Did he get hurt, also?

I know it's late in the season, but when was the last time we had this many key injuries across the board? If you go by the early/pre season depth chart: #1 tailback, #2 receiver (Carroll), #1 left tackle, 3 of our top 5 (maybe top 4) defensive backs, a potential #2/3 receiver (Farley), and a potential #2 TE (Deluliis).

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

A couple of years ago, either Beamer's last season or second to last. Half the secondary was injured, we lost a couple DL and OL.

And two running backs. Shai Mckenzie and Marshawn Lynch spent a good part of their time at VT injured.

Man, Marshawn Lynch spent so much time injured that I don't think I ever saw him play a down in Blacksburg.

Last time we had huge tangent discussions on whether it is was the strength and conditioning coach, and if he should be fired. You have fewer than average, and nobody talks about it. About average and it's bad luck. A few more than average and it's somebody's fault. I'm blaming Paul "bronco" Narduzzi and his holding chop block toaster technique.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

you're forgetting #1 right tackle (Tyrel Smith) supposedly healthy now, but he lost his starting spot to Chung in August due to injury.
