Blah Blah Marvel nerd stuff. This looks amazing.

I'm so excited. But I also can't shake the feeling that its just too many characters to fit into one movie.

Agreed. I feel like it's going to need to be 2.5-3 hours to get everyone in there and it make sense.

Which is fine.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Well then you'll be glad they've split Infinity War into 2 movies

No they nixed that, thank God: https://www.theverge.com/2016/7/29/12330184/avengers-infinity-war-no-lon...

Split movies never seem to translate well IMO. They nearly ruined the Hunger Games franchise with Mockingjay Part 1. Everyone complained about them doing it to the Hobbit (can't speak for myself because I didn't see them). To me it's just a cash grab.

That's mostly just a slight semantics change. There's still a fourth Avengers movie coming out in May 2019.

I think the connection between the two changed from being like Back to the Future 2 and 3 to something more like Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Yeah. But as long as they come to a respectable conclusion in Infinity War I'll be fine. It comes to mind too in the way they split that up.

Basically don't do like Mockingjay did and I'll be happy haha. But dem Russo boys and Markus/McFeely have quite the track record.

Somehow double posted.

I just saw the extended editions of the Hobbit movies for the first time (the whole LOTR: Extended Cut series was on sale on Playstation Network for $50 a bit ago)... the real kicker about the Hobbit trilogy.... they cut out some of the best scenes in the theater release. Not only did they make 3 movies when 1 would have probably sufficed, but they still left out some of the coolest stuff.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

They did the same with the LOTR trilogy. But, and they were right on this... nobody wants to go to the movies to see a 3 and a half hour flick. At that point, you have to cut out some good stuff, especially if the extended edition is solid on its own.

"Some days you’re a horse and some days you’re a horse’s ass. I’ve been a horse’s ass for a little while." - Roy Halladay

It makes sense for the LOTR trilogy, because it was justified being 3 movies in the first place. That's 3 huge books and nearly everything in the films was requisite, so they had to cut out some of the nifty scenes that were less vital. The Hobbit had no reason to be 3 movies. Cut out that whole elf-dwarf romance side plot and maybe we get those extra scenes of Elrond, Galadriel, and Saurumon kicking orc tail on the big screen.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

That elf-dwarf romance had Tolkien rolling in his grave...completely forced and unnecessary. Almost ruined the Hobbit series for me.

MCU is saying they now have the rights to ~ 7,000 characters. That makes for big casts.

Ahh so that last scene explains that last credit scene of Ragnarok

If you saw the leaked comicon trailer, they have a bit more of that as well.

My favorite part: Cap's wavy locks.

It's crazy looking at the "starring" section on the Wikipedia page for the movie. So. Many. Names.

I was excited for the Spidey Sense

Here here! They left a lot of spideys "side" powers out of the recent movie. Was glad to see that.

Not Star Lord's 'stache? that was interesting...

Still better than Justice League

This looks amazing... judging from the action, I'm figuring the last infinity stone is in Wakanda.

Probable, since the soul stone has yet to appear in the MCU. I guess it could be introduced in the beginning in of IW.

Just when I thought I could not take another comic book movies they go and do something like this...and totally redeem themselves!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

As someone who hasn't seen any of the Marvel movies in the last 7-8 years, what's the best order to watch them in? I'm confused about the difference between Iron Man, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Guardians of the Galaxy, and how they all fit together. Thanks in advance.

Do NOT watch Fantastic Four!! It, like VT playing Temple in 1998, never happened!

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

It is also not a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. It was either Sony or Fox.

Fox. Sony only has Spidey. Twenty Century Fox has all X-Men (including Deadpool) and Fantastic 4. There was a rumor last month that Disney was about to buy out Fox's Marvel assets, but the deal broke down (at least for now).

🦃 🦃 🦃

If all you're interested is set-up for Inf. War, you can skip most of the solo movies. You'll want to watch the movies with Infinity Stones:
Thor
First Avenger
Avengers
Dark World
Guardians I
Age of Ultron
Dr. Strange
Civil War (kinda - VISION talks about the mind stone, but it's not super important)
Ragnorak

Or (SPOILER ALERT), you could just read this: http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Infinity_Stones

You'll be missing a lot of good movies if you took either of these routes.

🦃 🦃 🦃

You're also gonna want to see Captain America 2 the Winter Soldier because it's a straight badass movie

Finally, Thanos is doing something other than sitting in that fucking chair. Looks sweet. ..I'll have to catch up on the marvel movies that I've missed (Spider-man, Thor, the last Avengers)

Comfortable enough with my own sexuality to say with certainty that Chris Evans is a fucking dream boat.

“Stats are for losers.” -Mel Kiper Jr.

My boy Chris Hemsworth would take him in a fight. And then there is Chris Pratt. What is with all the Chris named mancrushes?

Don't forget about Chris Pine

2 Kirks, the Human Torch and the chubby shoe shiner from Pawnee

Man, I wish I could have a job where I worked out 8hours a day with a dedicated personal trainer

I mean this probably sums up what I need to do to kickstart it.

Y'ALL

Iron Man has a new suit. Cap (obviously) has a new shield. Ebony Maw. Ughhhhh it's so far away.

I have not had a chance to sit down today let alone watch this before now. But good God I hope it delivers, cause this trailer is hype.

Didn't they sort of show War Machine in the 1st trailer??

I don't understand what's going on. I've missed too many movies.

Good guys put aside differences to fight the biggest, baddest bad that has ever been... Hmm.. Yeah, that pretty much covers it.

Thanos is the baddest dude in MCU (learned that in GoTG: Vol 1).

Thanos wants all the infinity stones, which there are 6 (5 have been identified in the Universe thus far).

If he gets all 6 infinity stones, he becomes the ultimate power (as understood from comics and trailers).

All of the MCU good guys, Avengers, GoTG, Sorcerers, Wakandans, Asgardians, etc., team up to stop him (like everyone that exists in the MCU).

🦃 🦃 🦃

But weren't they just fighting each other in Civil War?

Yes, but nothing unites people like a mutual enemy. You know like alabama.

Does this make the Guardians of the Galaxy UMBC?

So saban is now Thanos. Got it.

What?! Thats an insult! Thanos isn't nearly as evil!

What the MCU has done thats so masterful is capture the power of the crossover. I find myself just as enthralled with the potential dialogue that will take place between heroes that have never crossed paths (like gaurdians and iron man) as I am with the action. This is what ten years of movies have been building towards and I CANNOT wait!!

DCU fucked up

DCU just said, "fuck it, we are way too behind Marvel. Let's just through everybody together and figure it out later. People just want action and no fleshed out backstory of the primary characters. Maybe we can do it later?"

Gonna hit this up tonight. Anyone else going?

Mrs & I will be. I expect it surpass Panther. Scratch that. We might be going tonight.

Saturday night for us. Going from Lynchburg to Charlottesville so we could get reserved tickets at Violet Crown. Didn't feel like dealing with crowds and this will be a good movie to have a beer with. Cannot wait.

Even skipped moviepass for this one because I needed advanced tickets.

I'll be seeing it tonight. Hype is off the rails.

Seeing it tonight at 9.

yep. looking forward to it.

Reviews mostly positive with 87% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. I imagine it will be great for MCU fans, but super hard to follow for casual viewers with the number of story lines to follow.
