Babcock said approximately half the $33 million came from the ticket-priority plan and other gifts to the annual fund. That allowed the Hokie Club — Tech aspires to 25,000 members and has increased rolls from 10,000 to 14,000 — to cover the athletic department's scholarship costs of approximately $15 million
