I've heard Invent the Future is out... we're coming up with something new, that better meshes with the athletic look

Don't let this comment take away from the fact that Arkansas blew a 24 point 2nd half lead in the Belk Bowl.

The gobbler is the best. I would love for us to rock that on a week to week basis.

What's
Important
Now

Oh please for goodness sake bring the gobbler back

I'm wondering will this be just the university logo or include athletics?

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

For a moment I read your response as "we are now going to be called Virginia Tech University" and was like DA HELL WE ARE!

Now, I'm cool, I'm cool.

INVENT THE FUENTE

Invente el Fuente

I hope it's as good as the recent NBA Finals rebrand.

Edit: Sarcastic or not, wishes do come true, kids

Isn't this what was talked about a while back with the rounded VT and softer edges?

dammit beat me by seconds...

I truly do not like it.

It might as well be written in comic sans.

EDIT: It is growing on me.

This and the edit is exactly how I felt.

I'm rather upset that they dropped "Invent the Future". Why try to fix something if it wasn't broken?

From https://vtnews.vt.edu/articles/2017/09/unirel-mark.html

The lettering reflects the VT-shaped educational experience. The vertical bar of the T represents disciplinary depth, while the horizontal bar reflects the ability to work across disciplines. The arms of the V represent applying knowledge in real-world settings and the spirit of Ut Prosim. The logo's openness and shape highlight Virginia Tech's identity as an inclusive community that thrives at the intersection of academic disciplines.

I get that graphic design is difficult, but this is too much. It's a logo not an ethos.

Taking out the Pylons was the biggest mistake in my opinions. Our military history is something I'm very proud of, and while non-VT people don't get what the Pylons represent, we all do.

Rip his freaking head off!

How exactly does a rounded edge that divides the V and the T equate to inclusiveness. The V and T were already joined together as one.

Not to mention that the round edge completely clashes with the straight lines and sharp angles. The traditional square root of T logo looks cutting edge because it looks like it has sharp edges. This looks like a thin plastic decal that is peeling off and folding over on itself.

Not. Good.

Not impressed. If I didn't have an idea of how much money this thing cost, I probably wouldn't care. But since I do, someone please explain to me what benefit the change is supposed to return for the investment?
