Florida State Practice Update

Unlike in Blacksburg, media is given extensive access for Florida State. Yesterday was the Seminoles first day in full pads. Tomahawk Nation has a detailed write up on their practice:

FSU is implementing a new offense, and they have three quarterbacks splitting first team repetitions.

"That's the word that comes to mind when thinking about the quarterbacks on Saturday. Francois, Blackman, and Hockman are getting more and more comfortable calling and running plays. The Seminoles practiced goal line offense for about ten minutes; during which Hockman looked impressive throwing on the run off his back foot, while Francois and Blackman mastered handoff and play action timing. One week in the books — no clear front runner."

The article also mentions DJ Matthews and Brian Burns. In the spring game, Burns stood out as the a dynamic pass rusher with terrific leverage and a good first step. Matthews worked as the most dependable possession receiver in between the hash marks. Matthews is coming off of a minor injury, and Burns apparently is looking dominant. That Burns versus Silas Dzansi match up will loom very large.
