Hokies on the Pro Fields 2018

There is light at the end of this dark tunnel known as the off-season. NFL pre-season has officially started with the HOF game last night. We have got to show love for all of our Hokies who have made it big.

In reading the "Hokies in the Pros 2018" thread last night during the HOF game it was mentioned that we should have a separate thread for on the field action.

HokieFireman said a separate thread would be helpful to him so he could just deal with roster info.

So use this thread to post any on the field action from our Hokies in the Pros from now until February.

Hokie Nation was represented last night when Chuck Clark got a pick in the opening drive of the season.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

If Cam can slide his way into the 53, who knows, maybe he could push for some playing time.

Reports are that a few players, including Cam were injured in the Bills practice yesterday.

Whelp-fuck! All too familiar. Sadly, all too familiar.

Yep, left practice with a groin injury. Hopefully not serious!

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Woody Baron's Montreal Alouettes got demolished by Hamilton 50-11 last night. Montreal QB Johnny Manziel threw 4 first half INTs.

On the bright side, Woody got his first CFL sack. Congrats to him!

Montreal QB Johnny Manziel threw 4 first half INTs.

With that kind of performance Johnny Football will be on the Bills in no time. After all it's a short trip from Montreal and they really need someone to compete with Nathan Peterman after his 5 first half INT performance last year.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

"Guys kind of gravitate to him — he's a natural-born leader," Dorsey said. "Guys believe in his ability to move the chains, and when you don't turn the ball over — and God knows in 2017, we turned the ball over a lot — this franchise needed stability like that."

Nick Becton got some playing time for the Giants last night at Right Tackle. He has a chance of making the 53 man roster.

That's a grown ass man.

Don't expect to see T-Mobile back in the game vs the NYG, but 5/5 for 99 yds and a TD is damn good to see. 158.3 QBR. Get em you old 29 year old! haha

Settle getting all kinds of love. Looked really good on that drive.

Yeah, he's been looking much better in the second half.

Lots of love. Even mentioned "5th round out of Virginia tech" heading to break after the 3rd quarter. Awesome.

Isaiah Ford with a TD and two-point conversion to give the dolphins a 1 point lead with under a minute and a half. The dolphins then blew it.

that was impressive!

Go Hokies

Tim Settle is announced as the player of the game.

Settle gets player of the game for the redskins. Can't wait to see what he can do this year!

Great night for Hokies in the league man. Our guys were showing out.

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

Awesome wish I could have seen some it. Appreciate the updates. I'm stuck in Dallas watching Cowshits vs 49ers. This is football hell!

Hokies balled out tonight. I'll have another OGD 114 to celebrate.

I regret this.

I skipped breakfast this morning, but Teller pancakes are always a good substitute. Holy damn our Hokies balled out last night!

he literally shoved that lineman five yards past where they first engaged

Chem PhD '16

Did Teller put on a few more pounds? That hardly looks like how I remember him. He almost looks surprised the guy went down so easily and isn't sure what to do with himself.

Come to Blacksburg and see what the Hokie Pokie is really all about

Anyone know how Tremaine played? So far all I've heard is that he looked a bit lost while he was on the field.

Ah here we are:

That's really surprising after everything we've heard coming out of Buffalo so far.

"How the ass pocket will be used, I do not know. Alls I know is, the ass pocket will be used."
- The BoD

I watched a bit of the game and he definitely looked timid. I know he's going to be their starter so he didn't play much, but I think since he's also a rookie he needs to get a little bit more time in the preseason. Even though he has insane physical gifts, he is having a lot to learn between the ears as well as adjusting to the speed of the game. It just looked like he wasn't entirely confident in some of his decisions and I think the only way to get rid of that is in game reps.

He looks like I would expect a rookie to look, a few plays he was a step slow in diagnosing what was in front of him, on the more straightforward plays he handled his assignment. He looks physically imposing, even at the professional level, but will need a year to adjust to the game and learn the new system. I don't think that is unusual or any sort of knock on him. NFL GMs should be looking at year 2 for solid play and year 3 pro bowl for a guy taken in the top half of the first round. Year 1 is the learning curve.

Come to Blacksburg and see what the Hokie Pokie is really all about

Is it normal for an NFL defense to have all three linebackers lined up practically on top of one another like the Bills are doing on a lot of those plays? That seems sub-optimal.

"Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing."
-Ron Swanson

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

Remember, he is one of the youngest players in the league (still 19 I believe). He will figure it out.

Is it football season yet?

I would like to draft the Hokies as my NFL defense for fantasy this year.

Andrew Motuapuaka got his name butchered, but also got it called a whole bunch because of the butchering, in the Jags game. Looked pretty solid in terms of reading the play and getting his nose where the ball was. Also brought me the sads seeing him and C.J. Reavis on the same team stopping plays in their tracks.

Come to Blacksburg and see what the Hokie Pokie is really all about

Goodness, how hard is it for announcers to pronounce "Andrew" the right way? So frustrating.

If you're reading the above post and thinking, "is this guy serious?!?," you can safely assume I'm not.

In the preseason, even the most overlooked athletes can make big plays. Undrafted and undersized rookie linebacker Andrew Motuapuaka received his opportunity to shine on a key fourth-down stop Thursday during the Jaguars' preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints

Really happy for Chuck Clark, I thought he was one of the most underrated Hokies of all-time. Sounds like he had a good rookie year (didn't really follow the Ravens last year) and is on track to become a starter in the near future.

ive seen him make quite a bit of really good plays and a few INTs on his IG story. unfortunately I don't know if he will make this jags team as they have a TON of depth and talent in the secondary right now. Might latch on as a special teams guy though.

so good to see Hokies making plays on Sunday... damn't, i may have to start watching NFL again

Hard to believe that was his first interception since November 16, 2013(!)

He has a chance to see the field, the Chargers lost their starting CB to injury for the season.

What's
Important

I guess med school is going to have to wait.

Man, I don't really have teams, but all these players doing well in the preseason, I hope that trend continues during the year. I will totally be watching for that.

Torrian Gray and Greg Stroman continuing to come up in conversation during Washington Redskins training camp:

As the Redskins defensive backs and Jets wide receivers moved to the 1-on-1 drills, Torrian Gray's group was the one to win the battle. D.J. Swearinger Sr. broke up a deep pass targeted towards the end zone to start off things, with rookie cornerback Greg Stroman also making catches consistently difficult by having his coverage force overthrown passes.

Is it football season yet?

D.J. Swearinger Sr.

made me think of this

Run to Win. Pass To Score

Go Hokies!

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Redskins cut Orlando Scandrick Hopefully to make some room for Adonis and Stroman.

Kendall Fuller gets some love from Danny Heifetz at The Ringer, who named him one of the NFL's five most undervalued players.
