Trinity Episcopal's Henry Coleman III being wooed by UVA, Virginia Tech

CHARLOTTESVILLE—Henry Coleman III has seen the tapes – yes, they are VHS tapes – of his father throwing aside blockers, tackling running backs and sacking quarterbacks for the Virginia Tech football team back in the early 1990s.

And at 6-foot-8 and nearly 200 pounds, Coleman III certainly has the size to be a standout in the sport that his dad played for the Hokies.

"I just never really had the love for football that he did," Coleman III said.

Instead, the Trinity Episcopal standout forward has emerged as an elite recruit as a basketball player, a four-star prospect with a scholarship offer from Virginia Tech and heavy recruiting interest – but no offers yet – from Virginia and VCU.
