Tommy Reamon Jr. [edit] joins the New Orleans Saints

This was posted in the year-old thread where Tommy Reamon joined the Hokie staff. And at the suggestion of our TKP Overlord, it's best to post news like this in a new thread.

He's now bolted for the NFL and joining the Saints. Reamon had good ties to the 757.

With Galen Scott and now Reamon gone, I feel like we are going into summer workouts and fall recruiting with one hand tied behind our back. Hope we have some quality recruiting-oriented replacements lined up.

edit: eh, nevermind.

Didn't realize he "bolted". Any info about him not liking his time at VT?

Congrats to him. Hope he does well.

Does that have to be the reason? It's the NFL, this could be seen as a vertical move.

I agree with you, which is why i asked the question. He didn't bolt. He got a good opportunity and took it.

Not trying to call out the OP really because i appreciate him and fireman sharing information. The word choice is not great though unless info is out there.

Oh Fern! Thanks for the constructive criticism. Much appreciated.

In hindsight, I did use a poor adjective. If I recall correctly, TRjr joined the staff last summer. It feels too soon granted he had strong ties to the 757.

Of course best of luck to TRjr.

Let's Go

HOKIES

apologies if came off too sarcastic. really do appreciate the info!

thanks again

Congrats Tommy. Scouting in the NFL must be a dream come true. I hope we can backfill his position with someone who has deep ties to the 757

I know Fredericksburg isn't 757, but maybe Ford's coach needs a job as a QA.../s

"Bolts" definitely has a negative connotation. This after the "And then the big dogs started coming in." article:

We took the Bolts out in 7 #ALLCAPS

this may be a good move for VT. he is still tweeting a bunch for hokies. I'm sue that will wane, but doesn't hurt if some NFL guy is sharing Hokie love.

Definitely been a tough spring for the staff losing Galen, Cantor, and TRjr. I know this is part of the business, but anyone who's had an employee leave unexpectedly knows that it's tough to do your regular job, while doing the job of the person who just left AND interviewing replacements. This is when it helps to be well connected/networked.

This is the reason why no coaches bad mouth other coaches on their way out. They want to keep that network healthy.
