Virginia Tech Hokies head coach Justin Fuente confirmed Monday night on Tech Talk Live that true freshman cornerback Nadir Thompson has been ruled out for the season and will redshirt. VTScoop's Evan Watkins was first to report about the injury two weeks ago.

The 5-foot-10 inch 177-pound freshman defensive back played in three games, predominantly on special teams for the Virginia Tech Hokies this season.

From a VTscoop article. I was curious what he has contributed so far this year and if he was able to redshirt. Hopefully he recovers quickly and will be ready for a fresh start next year.

seriously though.... are we going to have anyone left to play special teams? were going to be going 11 hard here before you know it in all phases of the game.

I wanted to be upset, but the title rhymed.

The bye week looks into the eyes of Coach Fu, and says with a sly grin, "fuck you."

Edit: Didn't rhyme my response.

Hopefully this is the low point for Nadir.

You're the only ones that I can talk to about this, you guys.

Outside its night time, but inside its LeDay

Hai see what ku did there

You're the only ones that I can talk to about this, you guys.

If you're not sure if my comment warrants a "/s", it probably does.

I sat on this one for almost two days. Didn't get it at first. Came back. Still didn't get it. Finally Googled your entire comment. Take your damn leg, but I am not happy about it

That team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

Frustrating. He was coming off of an injury and looked like he was laboring in fall camp. Between this and Deablo playing on one leg, this isn't a great look for the orthopedic team, which isn't a new issue either.

The way this season has been...

Slight tangent, but what's the deal with D'Andre Plantin. Hearing he's not too happy and out?
