I think it is apparently now that JJ will be missing quite some time this season. His injury did not look good and his demeanor was indicative of someone realizing their season is in jeopardy or possibly over.
With that in mind, which of our QB options would you want to see starting?
Obviously, Willis has the "confidence" of the coaches as he got playtime when JJ went down. I'm not going to comment on his play as I don't feel like I can't lend much to that analysis. He did seem to play with more...zip...than JJ though.
The other "realistic" option would be rFr Hooker. The main question here is how far behind Willis is Hooker in terms of ability? Would you rather see a young promising QB with amazing physical capabilities get thrown into the fire? Let's assume for a second that the ODU game is not indicative of how our remaining games transpire. If that is the case, do you want to see Willis get play as he might give us the best chance to win games? Or do you want to see the QB with the much higher potential get called up?
I personally can not get too excited about Willis as a player. Or even JJ at this point going forward. But then again, it is natural to be more enthralled with the unknown (Hooker).
