- The offensive line was very solid assignment-wise. WVU caused some confusion for skill guys, but once those guys started accounting for the outside skill guys, the inside stuff opened up.
-That inverted veer QB keeper was open, and they stayed away from it until they needed it. The movement moved out the second level, the OL got the bubble, and Jackson delivered.
-The defense ran out of gas. Lack of pass rush was an issue, but Bud was dropping the DE into coverage and only bringing three. A couple of times on the last drive, they brought a stunt and it worked. Deablo and Floyd did a great job after Edmunds had to leave.
- Cam Phillips made some big plays down field, but long term you don't want that to be his role. They need to find someone to take the top off the defense.
- McLease really sparked the offense when he got touches. He ran hard. That almost-fumble resulted in the quick trigger, but McMIllian was very solid when he got a chance to finish the game.
- I was shocked at the lack of screens. But, they showed screens twice and suddenly the fake screen was open. Jackson looked like a completely different QB in terms of the speed of how he got his body ready to throw.
- Rough night for Joey Slye. He will get it right. But it didn't need to be that close.
