New jersey patch

I've been cruising around the twitters today while in flight and saw some pictures from the fan appreciation day. The players were wearing a patch on the right side of the jersey above the ACC patch that is the number 150 with a football in it. Anyone know what the significance of this patch is? I assume it's 150 years, but not sure what it's marking. Virginia Tech was founded in 1872 and the NCAA was founded in 1906 so I'm a bit puzzled.

It is the 150th anniversary of the first college football game.
cfb150

makes sense, thanks.

Rutgers vs Princeton, November 6th, 1869. What a barn-burner of a game, with Rutgers squeaking out the W 6-4 in front of a massive crowd of 100 people.

When I made the title of the thread it tried to capitalize the j and I had to go back and make it lower case. Probably should have just left it the way it was.

$150 is our annual revenue from the ACCN.

150 consecutive wins against UVA.

How about a "BF" helmet sticker or jersey patch this season???

No. The guy didn't pass away. They're already doing a Bud Foster night for one game. I think that would be overkill and I don't think Bud would want that.

this is what I was thinking too. He's retiring, not dead

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Imagine the scene if the players tried to carry him off the field the last game. He might suplex someone to China

Bud Foster:

@CraigThompsonVT

Does anyone know if this is a Nike thing, an NCAA thing or what?

Side note, ESPN is going to be putting out some insane content starting in September for the 150th anniversary of CFB. Tons of features, CFB centered 30 for 30s, classic games, etc.

Every FBS/FCS team is wearing it.

I'm here for the memes, I just stay for the football.
