OT: TooL Fear innoclum

Well it finally came out. 13 years in the making. I know there's a couple of tool fans on here so i wanna get y'alls opinion of it.
My thoughts on the album. I really REALLY like it.
The instruments are amazing sounding especially Adam Jones guitar work and DANNY FUCKING CAREY!!! Holy shit what a performance from that beast of a man. My favorite tracks on the album are pneuma, invincible and 7empest. They are some damn bangers. Descending and culling voices are growing on me and fear innoclum is really good too but i see why they made that song the lead single. One complaint tho is CCTrip. Get that "song" outta my faceπŸ˜‚ the snyths scare me too much for me too listen to it. But yeah if any tool fans wanna talk about the album here's a forum for it

Big Tool fan here as well. My first concert ever was at the Roanoke Civic Center for Meshuggah (sp?) and Tool on the Lateralus tour. It was an amazing concert, they played the whole album from start to finish. Great times! I'm really looking forward to sitting down and listening to this whole album from start to finish.

Listened to it yesterday while working in the yard. At first I was kind of like "WTF?". Then it started to grow on me. Pneuma is my favorite track so far.

I bet it would be sweet if you were on drugs, but I don't know anyone who does that stuff.... πŸ˜‰

Where's the beef?

As with all Tool it took several listens to fully appreciate it. Still finding new things I didn't pick up on before with each listen. Not sure I could put it on par with Lateralus at this point but I definitely think it is in a class with Γ†nima and 10000 Days. My favorite songs have completely changed, I loved Pneuma and Descending most on my first listen and now I love 7empest and Invincible the most.

I think my biggest complaint is Justin Chancellor kind of took a backseat on this. The way he played his bass almost as "co-lead guitar" on the previous three albums was what made me love Tool more than anything else and he definitely doesn't do that on this album even if he does some other cool things.

The more things go on, the more bass is taken out of the mix.

This is coming from a bass player who plays in bands that need the bass to be prominent. I'm out of the mix far too often.

Anyone headed to the show on Monday at Cap One?

Where's the beef?
