Cody Grimm leaving to take job with Tampa Bay Bucs

Grimm, 31, was a seventh-round pick by the Bucs in 2010 and played three seasons in the NFL, recording 73 tackles with two interceptions, including one for a touchdown. He has been serving as an assistant on the Virginia Tech coaching staff. He will work for the Bucs as a defense/special teams assistant

Well there goes more support staff.

Good for him. Maybe somewhere down the line in 2048 he becomes our next head coach after Fuente leads the Hokies to 5 Natty's and Shane wins 7 more.

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

He deserves it.

Any Hokie that is successful adds gleam to the VT star.. Congratulation to Cody Grim and best of luck wherever you go.

p.s.: I will be less gracious for any success that comes against the Hokies. ;>)

Ut Prosim Ad Dei Gloriam

Congrats to him. Still one of my favorite Hokies.

Just in case you read TKP... NO, you can't have the damned Redskin poster in Big Al's, Cody!!!

Wouldn't be shocked if he comes back to replace Foster whenever Foster decides to hang it up.

Grimm is the kind of player that becomes a good coach. Jack Tyler would be another. Both were not the most athletic or physically dominant player on the field, but made a huge impact by understanding the game and getting themselves in a position to succeed. The guys that have all the physical advantages just never seem to be able to teach the game well enough because I don't think they ever had to learn it at a high enough level of detail to succeed.

Come to Blacksburg and see what the Hokie Pokie is really all about

Yep, both were real students of the game. First one in, last to leave kind of guys.

Really just another coach on the field. Sneaky athletic.
