This first defensive player from the Hokies to be named to a watch list, the productive Ashby was named as a preseason candidate along side 91 other players including 4 nominations from Alabama, 3 from LSU, Iowa State, Notre Dame, and Penn State meaning just shy of 1/5 of the candidates come from the previous 5 institutions.
The normally quiet Ashby comes off of a tremendously productive 2018 campaign and looks to anchor the VT D once again.
