Let's assume we make it 16 straight. I don't want to look past them, but there's an interesting hypothetical looming over us if we do win.
Scenario 1: We lose a hard fought battle against Clemson. Clemson locks in their spot in the playoff. If we have a good showing we are probably the second highest ranked (maybe the only other ranked) ACC team and a likely candidate for the Orange Bowl.
Scenario 2: We somehow pull off a miracle and beat Clemson and crown ourselves ACC champion. Clemson is probably knocked out of the top 4 and goes to the orange bowl. CFP probably looks like LSU, OSU, (Bama or Georgia), (Oklahoma or Utah). We end up going to the belk bowl and have a ghost of a chance at an at large bid.
So the question I'm posing, which is better for the program; ACC championship and mid tier bowl, or Coastal Championship and Orange Bowl? Are we better off losing to Clemson?
Edit: Lol, did you guys know that the ACC champion automatically goes to the Orange bowl unless they're in the playoff?
