Three MF'ing FAM threads!! FAMMMMM!

The doll's trying to kill me and the toaster's been laughing at me.

I never thought we would win this game, but fuck yeah.

Love this team! Let's go!!!

This better go plaid, fuck these dudes for that shit!

Out of all the homer shit that was said.....the fact that this was the announcers celebrating a Miami TD was what pissed me off most

Oh hell no, F those asshats!

Make it go plaid and tweet it at those fucks.

I'm creating a twitter account just to Tweet them and call them out on it

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

I missed this, background?

But Dustin Dvorcek has never seen a Hail Mary!!

It's so FAM we have THREE! FAM threads!! WOOOOOO!!

I'm gonna need like 30 minutes to be normal after that game

I love this bar!! FAM

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

King Alum of the House Hokie, the First of His Name, Khal of the Turkey Legs, The rightful Heir to the Big Board, the Unbanned, Breaker of Trolls and Father of Gritty

This is what we wanted...willingness to make change! Thank you coaching staff!

GO HOKIES FAM FAM FAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bud just called out the Gameday crew for the segment they did this morning, said the only people the team has to please are in the locker room.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Are you sure he wasn't calling all of us out?

Hey, speak for yourselves!

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Well, he specifically said "I saw Gameday this morning...", but to be fair he can call out whomever he pleases.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Maybe Gameday should call the team out more often. Whatever it takes to get signs of life.

Maybe Kirk, Fowler, and the bear can lament on how bad things are in Miami on their flight home tonight?! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Not me

Where in the hell are the post game interviews tonight? I can't find them anywhere.

I caught it on the radio.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

The now i am worried about Farley transferring to a Florida school because he balls out in Florida FAM!!!

Hokies don't fear Miami
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain, we can be like they are

Come on baby, don't fear Miami
Baby take my hand, don't fear Miami
We'll be able to fly, don't fear Miami
Baby I'm your man

For the team to go from an ass whopping last week and to emotionally turn around it shows that this coaching staff is capable. I hope they build on this instead of regress.

Go Hokies!

FAM fam!!

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

But most of all:

Can we call Hendon Hooker Captain Hook yet???

Proud Hokie since 2004.

Listening to Fuente after the seemed like he read every single bad comment about him and was just so relieved we won.

I'm sure he had a tough week.

I felt like the coaching staff and players deserved a win tonight.

They all did well. I'm happy for him and bud and especially the players

Recruit Prosim

Sounded to me like he was proud of his team.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Sounded so very proud...I am very happy for him and the team

I get that it is part of the fan-base-has-the-right-to-complain but I feel some of the stuff has crossed the line. For all accounts I have heard, Fuente is a decent guy. He has a wife and school-age children that are not immune to some of the hate that has been directed at him. I am not saying he does not deserve some criticism but I hope that this win puts a cork in that bottle vitriol.

Ut Prosim Ad Dei Gloriam

So Hooker is starting now? Not the greatest game but can only improve.

Adds a different dimension all around that we need.

The Precious.

He had a couple impressive runs where it looks like he just accelerates where you shouldn't be able to. That dime to Hazelton was great. That pass to Mitchell was late, but there were many times Miami couldn't handle our receivers. A couple over throws that might be nerves/excitement/adrenaline, but fix those and it's a damn good game from a Sophomore.

I think the overthrows were more a lack of reps. He'll get better.

Could be that too, i just think about playing some golf where you the adrenaline is flowing that you have to club down.

Not sure if it was necessary to give the entire fanbase a heart attack but it's a win.

Just finished the game on a bit of a delay, a couple of observations:

1. What a $h!t show ESPN has become. The homer announcers (worse than any game I can remember), the never ending camera shots of everything in the stadium except the dang football game, and fact that no one can seem to get names correct. Everyone at ESPN, just do your job.

2. It was awesome to see this offense show some life (still some troubling trends)! It leaves me wondering why Hooker wasn't the starter game one; we'd probably be 4-1 if he had been.

3. So happy for Fuente! I'm still not bullish on the guy, but dang... It was nice to see him get a win!

Is it basketball season yet?

ESPN has been terrible for 10 years or more. I love the coaches room because they A) show the field all the time and B) talk about football. But the rest of the network is absolute trash. It's just people yelling over other people over things that aren't about the actual games. It's like some one watch Bill Maher or Crossfire (Tucker Carlson) and said that would be a perfect format, let's get a group of people that have no clue about a topic yell at each other about their ill-informed views on said topics. And you know what else, I don't care what Lebron does in his free time, or what soup he likes to eat. I want them to show sports or talk about the actual games.

The whole love letter to the city of Miami during the game was odd. Maybe if they were still in the Orange Bowl, but in a soulless NFL stadium (yes the orange bowl was NFL too, but different). Talking about the students make the drive from Coral Gables to Miami Gardens, WTF? The university hates that they have a team and 90% of the stadium is filled with people that never went to Miami.

I can't watch gameday any more, 3 hours of a show that should be less than a hour. Instead of being annoyed by Corso I just feel bad for him.

If Hooker gets more polished in the passing game, there's our future. That dime to Hazelton in the 4th was beautiful.

You could tell that he's a kid that just needs some reps. The next game (against R.I.) will give him some great reps!

Is it basketball season yet?

Agreed, I'm all in with Hooker for the rest of year. Especially if we keep integrating our TE's in the game plan....which is why we won today. MESSAGE CORNY!!!

French, I would love a review about how we used our personnel this game because there were only a couple plays that looked like we've ran them before (the Mitchell running TD).

So....for informational purposes only, if you put $100 on VT to beat the spread, how much did you make?

If you put $100 for VT to win outright, how much you get?

Asking for a friend.

TKPhi Damn Proud
BSME 2009

Should be over $400 for the outright win.

I wish I had the stones to bet for the outright win at around +450. The over 46 was an easier wager.

betting against the spread is typically a 2:1 venture (bet $100, win $100, less the take)

I made a small bet on the VT ML when the spread was Miami (-13.5) and got 5:1 odds including the take (bet $100, win $400 however I did not bet $100, mores the pity)

I think, after today's performance and all those turnovers, we need a turnover token of our own. Something that represents our land grant ag heritage. Something pure SWVA. Something like these...

Today was the first time since it's introduction that the turnover chain wasn't awarded during a Miami home game.

Waller and Farley intercepted it on it's way into the stadium.

15 yards of total offense in the third quarter.
Two injuries under a minute to play with no time run off.
Still can't keep us from winning.

What is the rule on offensive injuries and clock run-offs in college?

Depends, but one of those was on a play where the clock was stopped so it was legit to not have the runoff. If the clock is running it should be a 10 second runoff, which didn't happen on the one first down. I am not sure in that case what should have happened.

Got it. On another note I thought the clock operator was criminal.
1) clock stopped at 145 on VT last drive when Hooker went down inbounds with no official signaling to stop clock (haven't reviewed tape yet)
2) play with 17 seconds left the clock stopped at 11 seconds and appeared to stop at least 1 if not 2 seconds before the ball hit the ground on the sideline when Perry threw it Away (for perspective it was a long play where the QB scrambled out and threw it away)
3) play with 5 seconds left. The clock appeared to start a second or so late.

Oh yeah there were multiple clock issues in that game. At one point the broadcast took the clock away from the screen when it should have been running.

Yes. That should all be reviewed.

Yet they even gave Miami an additional play at the end of the game. Would have been criminal had Miami scored. Well, maybe criminal anyway.

On the play at 1:45 - I can not for the life of me figure out why it stopped. My father has been officiating for over 20 years - he has zero clue (and he is not a Hokie). He thinks it was a gigantic error. Everyone on the field has a radio and the back judge has the "official" clock, so one of the 8 should have noticed.

Furthermore, the official actually winds the clock, stops mid "wind", and then kills it. Makes no sense, but if you watched Duke/Pitt you know that ACC officiating was having problems making up their minds with their signals.

As for the 10 second run off - the rule states that if there is ANY reason that the clock would stop, there is no run off. So while Miami saved a few seconds not having to rush to get to the line to down it on the ball caught in the field of play, it was the correct call. I don't agree with the rule because the clock would start when the box gets set, but they actually got that one right.

I'm not sure about the other timing plays, but there have been multiple issues with that (see UVA/FSU) and there needs to be some accountability there from the ACC.

All of that seems correct.

I think the problems with the playclock go back even further than that. I'd review the last seven minutes of the game.

In a game where every second counts (see: last play), the clock should be be a little more precise, and there should be accountability.

Thank you for posting this. I totally agree the clock management thing is inexcusable and it's another miss by the announcers as well. I was screaming about this during the game and was amazed seemingly nobody noticed

On a serious note, what grit by the team to come out with attitude and fight all the way till the end for the win!

Lol Fuente legit looks like he was photoshopped into this picture. I love it!

Assuming there's a Giftory, I demand a specific moment in the game: right before Farley's second INT, on the 3rd and goal play, Alan Tisdale vommitted all over the field and it looked like a fire hydrant through his facemask. It was glorious and probably a perfect metaphor for his feelings about Da U.

My fiance saw that and said "did you see that? No way that was Gatorade". Dude still went after it though

Practicing our motto, ut prosim, or, "that I may serve," is imperative in recognizing what it means to be part of the Hokie family.

Jarrod Hewit puked too...

Hope it was just nerves

I saw this, too. The camera quickly changed right when he was gagging only to come back right when he finished.

My 7 year old is still talking about it... I've head some form of "Dad, that guy really puked on the field." at least 100 times since yesterday

Joker was good btw folks.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

So how does it compare to King of Comedy? Cause it sounds like it's the most expensive advertisement for a 30 year old movie.

Imagine traveling back in time 10 years and telling yourself that we would get curb stomped my Duke at home and then go down and beat Miami at Miami the next week. These are weird times.

Funny little anecdote is that in 2009 duke put up more of a fight against us than miami did

Pretty sure he's a huge Miami fan that Livestreams on YouTube during Miami games. He's pretty chill.

yeah, stumbled across it when watching highlights on youtube yesterday. He's actually pretty level headed, but I enjoyed him eating his score prediction.

One of the reasons I have disliked Miami has been the glitzy, braggadocios style they project. The lunch pail image of VT is much more to my liking. I actually think this is pretty classy ... in a Miami sense anyway. If you are going to be willing to eat your words when you are wrong then I am more willing to listen to you before hand .. but I may turn the volume down.

Ut Prosim Ad Dei Gloriam

I watched his pregame and postgame video for us. I actually enjoy his content quite a bit. He's levelheaded and offers keys to winning for both teams. I actually watched his UVA preview for tomorrow. He predicted a UVA win 38-21.
