It's 31-3 now...against Duke...we are getting blown out by...Duke. If we somehow turn this around, I hope to eat my words, but at the same time I think this still has merit.
I stopped posting for about a week or two, or at least stopped posting my guttural feelings because they were not positive and I felt I was not doing any service to our program.
At this point, the damage being done to our program is going to be irreparable.
I am actually still on the fence about Fuente as a whole, but the man is a sum of his parts and the worst of that seems to be Cornelson.
Someone here mentioned having Whit fire cornelson and I had had that same thought before, but responded to that with the thought that Fuente should be the one to do it.
NOW, I think whit should fire cornelson tomorrow and if Fuente quits, good riddance. I am NOT OK with firing Fuente and giving him $15M for setting our program back to levels of moderate FCS competition. We CANNOT OUT OF PRINCIPLE pay him $15,000,000 for destroying a once proud football program....WHICH, btw, would further destroy our program from a financial perspective.
I just checked our score from Lisbon, Portugal as I am here for a wedding, and I'm in a weird space between happy I didn't watch this and almost longing to watch this game to see just how bad we've become.
This could (will?) hurt recruiting, which should in turn hurt on field performance, more players will transfer, and this might turn into a horrible cycle that repeats....which will leave us....where?
Edit: I hate that I'm making this forum topic. I want so badly for us to be successful and for the people leading us to drive that success, but I can only watch the same thing fail so many times....
