The Bears defense was every bit as stifling as expected, but man it looks like the Packers didn't waste a dime in free agency. Offense was putrid last night for both sides. Fitting game for a celebration of 100 years for the NFL

I'd argue it as much as packers defense has improved the offense chicago ran was brainless. They also looked stupidly sloppy at times with penalties hell the 1st and 40 series was peak awful play calling. 2 deep shots before you try a screen lol? Not to mention trubisky could hardly hit his recievers at time. Definitely left unimpressed with what they are doing on offense which is a shame because that defense is nasty.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

offenses looked like it was still preseason

Packers had -12 yards by the end of the first quarter! -12!! Lets face it, the preseason has become a vehicle for coaches to evaluate guys at the bottom of the depth chart and weeks 1-4 are now the preseason. Especially for the Packers who are still installing a new offense

Especially when you consider Rodgers and none of the offense played in any of the preseason games.

I mean what do you expect, a hurricane was impacting the NC Triangle last night

Imagine trading up to the second pick to take a quarterback who can't complete a pass more than six yards down the field.

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

No harder to imagine than trading up to take a kicker in the 2nd round who you end up cutting a year later.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Yes but his titty kissing abilities is beyond question

If you're not sure if my comment warrants a "/s", it probably does.

If kissing titties is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

You know, I heard about this yesterday.... and I still guessed wrong.

Probably because my guess didn't exactly flame out, but just scorched its way across the league

Who was your guess?

TO wasn't a flame out though. Nuts...sure. But he is also a hall of famer

French, this isn't going well for your buddy Josh.

Flip the races on this and he's banned from the NFL. https://t.co/1zxucTlIz6β€” Josh Parcell (@JoshParcell) September 6, 2019 "

Update: Josh realized going the Danny Kanell route of tweeting stupid shit for attention was in fact a bad idea and already backtracked.

I screwed this up. I implied that cracker is equally offensive to the N-word. I don't believe that at all. I do believe we can be better, regardless at race, at holding ourselves to a standard of decency. AB has very clearly failed to do that⬇️This lacked the nuance it needed https://t.co/MG7AP3SJN5β€” Josh Parcell (@JoshParcell) September 6, 2019 "

Gobble Till You Wobble

Pretty sure calling anybody a racial stereotype is racist. Let's just not do it anymore.

Someone needs to discount doublecheck my eyes after that abomination. at least da Bears lost, hopefully 15 more for them so the Raiders can salvage something from the trade

I liked what Kellerman had to say about it, something is clearly wrong with AB. Either he just doesn't want to play football anymore, which is fine in and of itself, but he is going off the deep end at this point.

The Raiders almost have to cut him IMO, and find a way to get some of the money back. Because once they start playing and losing it's going to get even uglier.

And then he will end up a Patriot and awesome again for pennies on the dollar

"And then he will end up a Patriot and awesome again for pennies on the dollar"

This sounds so par for the course, that I would be surprised if it doesn't happen. So they Patriots end up with a sober Josh Gordon with almost no mileage to go with a rehabbed AB on his redemption tour. Tom Brady will be back there with an NFL-approved walker throwing TDs in like his 15th Super Bowl.

he is going off the deep end at this point.

Honestly it's possible he went off the deep end before anyone realized it at the time. This took place in April 2018 but wasn't reported until October. By then the NFL season was in full swing and Brown was putting up huge numbers as usual, so it wasn't much of a lingering question. After all the recent antics though, it looks a lot more significant.

And boom goes the dynamite.

Brown will be a Redskin, haha

Most intriguing fit to me is in TB back with Arians and paired with Evans, but they have no cap to fit him.

Psa: try to get AB for pennies on the dollar in your fantasy leagues

I don't know how they would do it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Oakland makes tampering charges or something against the team that signs Brown - they would argue that Brown purposely sought to void his contract with knowledge that he would sign a new deal with the new team. Hard to prove it, but the Raiders are lousy enough to not let this go, even though they should just be happy to get out of this nightmare without losing any money.

I have no doubt that Brown simply didn't want to play for the Raiders, but I would have to think it would be next to impossible for them to prove any kind of tampering

I agree, there's probably nothing even to prove because Brown really did just blow up a guaranteed thirty million dollar paycheck by emotional outbursts. But this is like a horror movie. We think it's over when there's no more contract and he's a free agent. Then he signs somewhere, and the Raiders rise from the dead to challenge it just to get back at Brown.

And now he has actually signed with the Patriots, which people had been half joking would happen. So Brown got out of a contract with a terrible team and has signed with the best team where he can play for a ring or two. Maybe Brown and Roesenhaus planned this whole show just to get out of Oakland. That's what I'd be thinking if I was Oakland, crazy or not.

Not saying it will happen, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised.

Would he really get frostbite on his feet as part of a plan?

Funny part is does he owe the Raiders more money then they paid him? He was fined a quarter of a million and won't collect a single game day check.

Haha, his feet, I forgot about that. That seems like decades ago now. No, bad luck or stupidity also plays a part in this saga. But now that you mention it, maybe this guy is super committed and it was part of his plan...

Ya, I was wondering how those fines work in the NFL. Common sense would say a team only collects fines by deducting from payments to the player, but throw common sense out the window.

Maybe that's how the Raiders will stick it to him, they'll sue him for the fines he owes because he won't willingly pay them.

#NotOverYet

I'm guessing that he won't have issues with his helmet anymore either.

If he intentionally pulled this crap to sign with another team for 1/3rd as much guaranteed money as a WR on the wrong side of 30, he is truly an idiot.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Maybe he just wanted to stick it to the Steelers. He certainly will now with the Pats.

I think it's boring personally, another first round bye coming for Pats in that awful division

Should have taken Tom Brady.

y'all remember when we played against Gardner Minshew and ECU and destroyed them (though I think they put up a bunch of yards in the first half). He's having a good half for the Jags right now, threw a 69 yard bomb, and the commentator said "nice".

Joey Slye missed his first attempt of the day in the first quarter.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

So uh...Miami might not be very good.

Think it was a foregone conclusion that they're all in on tanking this year. Can't say I blame them. How long can you continue to be ok with smoking NE one game and barely make it to .500? But 42-3 at the half might be a little too "all-in" lol

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

Tank for Tua

Joey Slye good from 46!

If you feel dumb today, I'm the guy that started DeDe Westbrook over Desean Jackson.

I've got Lamar Jackson and DeSean Jackson both on my bench with 75+ combined points..

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

Oof. Ya hate to see it. A guy in my league started Sammy Watkins and Christian McCarffrey...80 points between the two of them.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

Desean Jackson will have about six big games during the year, but the rest will be mediocre. Good luck.

Foles broken collarbone in 1st game for Jags.

That sounds about right.

CLE QB Mayfield - 3 Interceptions. Living and dying with the gunslinger.

I wonder what that's like?... πŸ€”

We put the K in Kwality

I started Kupp over Singletary when I decided to sit Antonio Brown this week.

Davonte Freeman can back to the bench next week.

Phillip Rivers passes to Tyrod Taylor, really just throwing it away, but Tyrod will apparently be part of some razzle-dazzle at some point.

Interesting.

Hoping Saquan and Evan Engram can save my week here. I also had Jax defense with -8 points and started Baker who had 3 picks

Fellow Jax defense person. It just hurts. Especially when my opponents has the Vikings Defense.

Yup. My opponent had the Bears D. That could be the difference of the matchup right there.

I had Aaron Jones, David Montgomery, and Davante Adams on my home league.

"It's a miracle in Blacksburg, TYROD DID IT MIKEY, TYROD DID IT!"

Redksins suck again.

Is it basketball season yet?

Kellen Moore is winning over the Dallas fan base pretty quickly. Night and day between his play calling and Linehan's. I am happy.

Also the Giants are trash.

LancerHokie is also very happy with Dallas today.

It's a super football weekend!!!! Hokie win. Cowboys win. Skins lost. Dallas looked good on both sides of the ball. Football is back!!!

Fantasy platforms are going to have to update Taysom Hill's position to QB/RB/WR/TE

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Has he kicked as well?

I know I've seen him make some crazy tackles on special teams (kickoff specifically) a few years ago.

That is some talent right there.

That Hou-NO game may be the best non-playoff game I've ever watched. Holy shit what a game and holyyyy shit what an ending. Brees is a maestro.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

That prevent ish gave me flashbacks of the BC game! Houston deserved to lose that game the way their DC called those last few plays.

Hokies won, Raiders won, we are not gonna talk about gambling or fantasy football though, overall good week!
