OT: 2021-22 Hokies Fantasy Premier League (FPL)

The EPL is BAK! The 2021-22 campaign kicks off in two weeks' time when newly promoted Brentford host Arsenal in the season opener. As three-time defending champion for Hokes FPL, I'd figure I'd make a thread inviting the other soccer fans on the boards! The game is now live and fixtures are announced!

Once HokieBone reactivates the minileague, I'll update with the league code here.

Might have to look at this. Never played anything but fantasy football before.

Heck yeah

I just need to try not to forget about it after week 3 like last year. Did far better with fantasy Bundesliga, but even that was an afterthought to football

Since HokieBone hasn't chimed in and his last activity on the boards was last football season, I set up a new Hokies FPL ML. Feel free to share the link around to any other hokies you know who may be interested!

Sooo curious who people will be rocking as their go to captain this year, the last two seasons it's been Salah and Kane for me and if Kane goes to city it'll be Kane for me. All that said Bruno put up some lovely numbers last season and if he can keep that rate up he definitely will be in discussion for me.

Curious what new signings like Sancho, lukaku, grealish people are high or low on going into the new fantasy season

I think Lukaku will come in and thrive with all the playmakers already on that team.

It'll be interesting to see he didn't convince me at united but he was asked to do an immense amount and I thought he was serviceable in Manchester. If he doesn't kill it with Chelsea it will be a disappointment as he's done so well at inter.

Consensus is to back Salah, Kane would be pretty much a given as captain if he goes to city. There is nice banter in the community about Bruno vs BruNO, which means he's priced right if you might be more interested in spreading the funds around. There's real question marks around whether penalty output is sustainable and what impact Sancho might have

Bruno was amazing bang for bucks I rarely capd him but when I did it worked. No cavani and rashford to start the season I would be hesitant to go with him from the start. Penalties will be interesting hopefully the PL officials will start holding the whistle like UEFA had the euro officials doing. Can't see Sancho all but helping especially in the penalty department the way he loves to dribble in the box and the way he creates might put Bruno on the goal scoring end more often.
