Picture this. You're Shane Beamer. You have a total of 9 capable backs on your roster, and that doesn't even include Sam Rogers, who will get his share of carries as well. You have a decision to make similar to that of 2010 when the likes of David Wilson, Ryan Williams, and Darren Evans were all in the same backfield. Who do you start? Who gets the most carries? Does anyone redshirt? The options are endless. Choose between:
Marshawn Williams
JC Coleman
Shai McKenzie
Trey Edmunds
Joel Caleb
Jerome Wright
Deshawn McClease
DJ Reid
Travon McMillian
Personally, I have no idea but I know that the best backs are (in no order) Marshawn, Shai, Trey and I never thought I'd say it but JC Coleman. McClease will redshirt for sure. Wright may switch positions and back up Rogers. McMillian could become another Newsome/Parker/Stroman type of receiver. Caleb unfortunately will be buried, as will Reid. But as far as the top 4, I just hope we get them all enough carries to be effective.
