Welcome to Week 11 and the home stretch. The season has flown by, even if Tech has 3 seasons worth of losses. This will be brief and hastily put together Six Pick due to me being extremely busy in my personal life. However, I am not so busy that I can't make a trip to Blacksburg and back later this week. Go Hokies. I know this season has been a disappointment, but don't give up on this team or this sport, it always can't be our year. Celebrate others success, unless it's the dirty neers or hoos or Canes or Noles or Vols or ... never mind, watch to see if everything burns.

I have little to add this week, so I thought an offering to the Football Gods would suffice. At first I was thinking of offering a VT cheerleader or coed, then I thought about #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING, but the Gods don't want physical beauty, they want heart and something real, that signifies Virginia Tech football. The Lunchpail. To current students, this must a thing only seen on tshirts or foamed hats, but not so long ago, this meant something. Here is hoping it means something again, very soon.

Northwestern at Michigan -10.5 12:00 pm ESPN
Pick: Michigan laying the points. The Wolverines have come back to earth this season, but they do appear to be getting better incrementally. Playing at home, they cover.
Oregon State at Stanford -4.5 3:00 pm FOX
Pick: Beavers getting the points. I expect a low scoring game, that could go either way.
Baylor at Oklahoma -21.5 3:30 pm FSN Affiliates
Pick: Baylor getting the points. The Bears will score enough to stay within 3 TDs.
Penn State at Nebraska -7.5 3:30 pm ABC / ESPN2
Pick: Nebraska covering. I flipped a coin, Nebraska won and they are playing at home. Seemed scientific?
Texas A&M at Alabama -13.5 3:30 pm CBS
Pick: Tide laying the points. I don't feel confident, they could come out a bit flat, but I wrote in Saban's name for President, I better back him here.
Kansas State at TCU -Pick em 7:00 pm FOX
Pick: KSU. Obviously this is a guess, as it is written before we know if Colin Klein is playing. If he is isn't ... this is a great spot for an upset.
Beer of the Week

This is a special tailgate for me as two of biggest beer geek friends will be in attendance. Between the 3 of us, there will be 15+ highly rated and hard to get 22 oz beers. It may get ugly, but at least I'll be going down in style. My best is Ninkas Tricerahops Double IPA is a highly rated Oregon beer. I just hope this fine Beaver state beer offering also bring football luck to the Hokies.
Quick Recap
Remember, these picks are against the spread.
Midwest Nerds at Blue -10.5
Beavers at Tree -4.5
Bear Claws at Boomer Sooner -21.5
Nittany Lions at Huskers -7.5
Aggies at Tide -13.5
Klein State at Horned Frogs PK
I recommend drinking heavily and randomly picking for most of you.

BOW: 'Pistols at Dawn' by Lonerider Brewing here in Raleigh. The name in itself is badass. The beer is pretty good, too.
'High noon will have to take a backseat as the fresh morning air is perfect for a duel. We present our stout brewed with roasted malts, oats, lactose, and locally produced chocolate and coffee. A rich, dark velvety beer with a fine oatmeal flavor.'

Might as well throw in my picks.
Although Thursday night was quite the downer.
Northwestern - Don't ask for an explanation, I can't give you one.
#BEAVERJUICE
Baylor - Offense is talented enough to keep it within three touchdowns.
State College - I think they'll get it close, but the Huskers still win at home.
Bama - I want to believe that aTm could pull off an upset, and then I remembered week one, and the Tide completely dismantling Denard to the point of physical injury. Good luck with that one, Johnny Football.
Snyder Kats - This squad has a special look to it, and the defense is good enough to shut down a mediocre TCU offense if Klein isn't 100%.
Post is up late, and that's my fault. Sorry guys.
