I never actually went to Virginia Tech, just born a fan I suppose. I thought about going at one point, but I joined the Air Force not too long after graduating high school and have been stationed down here in Louisiana ever since. (yes...SEC country...unbearable)
I'm really hoping we get Pep Hamilton, he leads the exact kind of offense that Virginia Tech is about.

My first post by the way. Registered right before the season started, but my enthusiasm declined for some reason...
so let's say this is all true
Not totally sold on it yet, but we obviously all have the time to hypothesize here.
If Pep Hamilton were to be hired, the guy is an extremely hot commodity right now and Beamer has to know that. Do you think he's making a one last run at it type of deal? Beamer has obviously always been a stickler for consistency and this type of hire would go totally against that.
Thoughts on how long you think he'd stay? If he's gone in one/two year(s), is that still positive for the program? Has Beamer been keeping up on TKP and knows that beating Alabama = becoming God?
I tend to agree. Frankie knows he won't be coaching for a whole lot longer and so is going for broke. I just hope it works.
I drank a glass of water, and I'm going to temper my expectations for now. If we don't land Pep, for whatever reason, I'll still be happy because Beamer tried to make the power move and it seems that some sort of change is happening.

Think since they are meeting in Nashville that is because Pep also has (had) meeting with some NFL teams? It was being thrown out first that there were NFL teams interested in him.
They're in Nashville for the American Football Coaches Association Conference. But who knows, he was the OC for DA BEARS for two years...
He wasn't an OC, just QBs coach.
Although any NFL experience is good experience.
