Saw this article and it seemed so clean and black and white a write up of what the Hokies lost and need to replace, so I am adding the link. My first actual post, so all hopes that I am doing it right.

First!
...thing I would like to say is that it sucks seeing so much of the defense gone. Secondly, I agree that next year we should definitely be better. Excited to see JJ with a year under his belt.
Is this clapping doll freaking anyone else out?
1) I believe that's the point.
2) That's not any old doll, that's Ken (from Toy Story 3)!
McMillian is gone and Chung is still waiting to hear on his waiver.
Pretty solid writeup, they did miss that Travon transferred and that Deablo will step in at safety. Here's hoping Caleb Farley takes the whole ACC by surprise, wherever tf he ends up playing.
Here's to Caleb Farley being the first player in the history of the world to gather 100 receiving yards, 100 rushing yards, 2 interceptions, 2 sacks, 4 total touchdowns, and converting on a 60+yd FG all in the span of one half.
FSU won't know what hit 'em.
For a 100,000 ft perspective 8 months away from the season, it's not bad. That said, I'd think they'd at least mention the pending QB battle and who we're expecting to return from season-ending injuries (ex., Deablo).
Most people outside of Tech fans have no reason to think there's a QB battle when we just started a freshman.
And over the course of the season, his stats were more than solid, especially for a freshman.
Defensive tackle is THE worry.
Youth in LB Corps?
worried about communication, but I like the talent there
I'm with you but least we have promising athletes there. We have a Tim Settle shaped hole on the inside though without anything close in the wings to fill it plus depth concerns. I'm really hoping some of these guys that have been in the program take a huge step forward AND that Cam Goode (if we get him) can step in right away.
If/when Cam Goode steps foot on campus at Tech he is a lock to the program.
Yeah but he ain't gonna step in and start.
Mike?
Mark from Winchester?
Ned?
How is that? We return three of the four in the two-deep! ;^)
I guess because whenever Walker and Settle were both on the sideline, the defense became porous. Next year, Settle is on another sideline. So now, Walker must be in as much as possible, if VT doesn't get a few surprises.
I never noticed it before, but in last season's two-deep, Mihota was our 4th heaviest DL.
Poor DT recruiting since 2015
Either that, or Vinny just turned out to be a big boy. Same with Tremaine, who is bigger than all our DEs not named Vinny.
ETA: I am glad the coaches decided to recruit bigger D-linemen that won't get manhandled by bigger opposing O-linemen.
Yeah Bud Elliott is kind of a baller at Tomahawk Nation. You want to know something first and know that it's right that's where you go.
Pssssttt: but he didn't get it right. /s
but comes across as an ahole, 247
Siiigh, I hate their readers' confident optimism.
yea, but if you had it you wouldn't be a hokie fan! /s (sorta)
It's not a terrible writeup, but there's a lot of obvious mistakes to someone more familiar with the team.
McMillan is a big loss
Teller should get some love, right?
Mihota, sadly, is a tossup due to injury. Especially for the first game of the season.
The article got some stuff right and some wrong. It shows they don't really know us. But they will. Yes, our team will make it's share of mistakes. So will theirs.
A few things from the comments section...
1) They obviously think it only gets hot and humid in Tallahassee. Shows what they know. It only smells like shit in Tallahassee.
2) They think all DTs have to be 300+ lbs. What the heck is up with this stupid mentality? Our under 300 lb DT played better than our heavier one.
3) Square pegs don't fit in round holes. Their O is in for some growing pains, as we all know. It'll take time for their offense to gel, no matter how many stars their players were rated. Unless, of course, they are admitting the coaching staff will violate NCAA rules on practice time.
4) I liked the comments on closing practice. Made me laugh considering the pissing and moaning I've seen from other sites about ours being closed.
5) They might win. They might lose. Either way, they seem to be suffering from delusions of grandeur. I'll believe they bak when I see it. F$U shit the bed last year, and I don't think it was a one off.
6) You don't get wins. You earn them. They'll have to earn this one. And Miami.
Are people really surprised that another team's blog didn't have the ins-and-outs of new and upcoming players for tech?
Honestly, that's a decent writeup and basis for discussion.
Defensive tackle is always THE worry. FTFY
